Breakout and Recreational Zones for Corporate Offices
Great ideas often happen away from the desk. We design engaging lounges, canteens, and game areas that serve as the social heart of your office, promoting relaxation and informal collaboration.
A vibrant lounge area in the Mindsprint office, featuring a curved yellow sofa set against a Mondrian-inspired colorful glass partition. The circular red carpet defines the space, making it a perfect spot for informal chats and breaks.
The canteen at Scientific Games, viewed from the main workspace. The area is defined by wood-look flooring and planters, creating a distinct zone that feels like a cafe within the office.
A modern pantry space featuring a fluted island counter and warm, recessed lighting against orange and yellow tiled backsplashes. This compact yet stylish area provides all necessary amenities for a quick coffee break.
This view shows the transition from the workspace to the canteen, with a decorative shelving unit acting as a subtle divider. The high-top table and stools offer a casual spot for employees to eat or work.
A recreational area at Scientific Games complete with a ping-pong table. We designed this space to be open and accessible, encouraging employees to take active breaks and socialize with colleagues.
The long mural depicting Bengaluru's landmarks serves as a vibrant backdrop for this lounge area. The mix of armchairs and ottomans in warm colors creates a comfortable and visually rich environment for relaxation.
The canteen at the TVS Auction Centre features a large mural of Chennai's skyline. We used bright yellow chairs and simple white tables to create a cheerful and functional dining space that celebrates local identity.
About this collection
We do not treat breakout areas as leftover space. We use acoustic ceiling baffles, distinct flooring materials like nylon carpet tiles, and specific lighting zones to create a psychological shift from task mode to recharge mode. This ensures your canteen or lounge feels like a purposeful destination, not just a corner with furniture.
A well-planned recreational zone functions as a necessary release valve for the high-pressure environment of a modern office. Our approach focuses on the elements that ensure these spaces remain functional and durable over years of daily use.
For canteen areas, we specify materials like vitrified tiles or marble-finish laminates that are easy to clean and maintain during high-traffic lunch hours. To manage noise, we implement acoustic ceiling treatments and wall paneling that prevent sound from spilling into adjacent quiet work zones.
We also prioritize zoning techniques to define these spaces without needing bulky, space-consuming walls. Changes in floor patterns, ceiling height, or furniture clusters allow the office to remain open while clearly demarcating where work ends and relaxation begins. Whether the project requires a formal cafeteria, a game room with table tennis, or a casual lounge corridor, we analyze traffic patterns and peak usage hours to optimize flow and prevent congestion.
By integrating your brand identity—through color, wall murals, or typography—we turn these utilitarian areas into extensions of your company culture. These design choices ensure that your office recreation space serves a serious, strategic purpose in employee retention and daily operational efficiency.
