Welcoming Corporate Receptions and Office Lobbies
Your reception is the first chapter of your company's story. We design entrances that blend your brand identity with a space that makes guests and employees feel comfortable from the moment they walk in.

About Welcoming Receptions & Lobbies
We look beyond the desk to consider how your reception space interacts with your brand identity. We balance the need for a professional arrival experience with practical considerations like visitor flow, waiting area acoustics, and lighting temperatures. Whether you want an industrial look with raw brick or a minimalist corporate feel, we ensure the entrance sets the right tone for employees and clients alike.
A reception area is more than just a place to wait. It is a functional node that connects your company to the outside world. When we start a design, we consider how the space needs to perform.
Materiality and Brand Identity
We often use unconventional materials to tell a brand's story. For clients like Arthmate, we utilized exposed brick and OSB paneling to convey a raw, entrepreneurial spirit. For others, we might pivot to sleek marble or high-gloss finishes to project stability and scale. We don't just pick aesthetics; we look at durability, maintenance, and how the materials will age in a high-traffic entrance.
Strategic Zoning
Every lobby needs distinct zones. We analyze the footfall to place reception desks, lounge seating, and informal meeting pods. This layout prevents congestion and ensures that the transition from a busy street to a quiet office environment is seamless. We also pay attention to the Reflected Ceiling Plan (RCP), often designing custom lighting fixtures or exposed ducting layouts that draw the eye upward and add a sense of volume to the space.
Lighting as a Guide
Lighting is not just about visibility. We use layered lighting—ambient, task, and accent—to create atmosphere. A warm glow at the reception desk makes visitors feel welcomed, while bright, focused light on branding elements ensures your logo stands out. We avoid standard, flat tube lighting in favor of profile lights or sculptural fixtures that define the architecture of the ceiling.
If you have a bare shell or a dated lobby that needs a transformation, we are happy to walk through how we can reconfigure your arrival zone to better suit your current team size and brand image.
