You might notice our celebrations look a bit different from traditional school events. We don’t do elaborate, noisy stage productions that overwhelm children. Instead, we focus on the Montessori 'Walk Around the Sun' for birthdays or meaningful cultural festivals where children participate at their own comfort level, keeping the focus entirely on their joy and social connection rather than performance.

In a Montessori environment, every activity has a purpose, and our celebrations are no exception. When we mark festivals like Diwali or Independence Day, it isn't just about the event. The 'Walk Around the Sun' Birthday Tradition

One of the most special moments at Ayelet is the birthday celebration. We avoid sugar-heavy parties. Instead, we perform the 'Walk Around the Sun' ceremony. The child walks around a sun model with a globe, representing each year of their life, while sharing milestones with their friends. It helps them understand the passage of time and makes them feel valued as an individual.

Culture and Community

We also prioritize keeping our school a 'prepared environment' even during celebrations. Whether we are setting up for a potluck or crafting decorations for a festival, children are often involved in the preparation. This builds a sense of ownership and belonging.
