Learning in Action at Ayelet Montessori
Step into our BTM Layout classroom, where children engage in deep, purposeful work, building independence and concentration through the authentic Montessori method.
About Learning in Action
In our classroom, you won’t find children rushing through worksheets. Instead, you will see a three-year-old carefully pouring water from a small glass pitcher or a five-year-old methodically working with the bead cabinet. This is not play for the sake of play; it is purposeful work. When children choose their own activities, they build a level of concentration and independence that serves them for a lifetime, not just for their next exam.
At Ayelet Montessori in BTM Layout, we believe that education is a natural process that unfolds within the child. The 'Learning in Action' moments captured here illustrate our core philosophy: we do not instruct in the traditional sense. Instead, we prepare the environment and then observe.
Why Our Approach Matters
- Practical Life Skills: You will notice children focused on everyday tasks like cleaning, buttoning, or pouring. These activities refine fine motor skills, coordination, and, most importantly, foster a sense of autonomy.
- Sensorial Exploration: We use materials like the Pink Tower and Sound Cylinders to help children categorize their world. By working with their hands, they internalize abstract concepts in math and science before they ever touch a pencil.
- Mixed-Age Classrooms: Our 18-month to 6-year-old groups allow for natural mentorship. Younger children learn by observing their peers, while older students gain confidence and leadership skills by helping those who are just starting out.
Preparing for Formal Schooling
Many parents in Bangalore ask if this child-led approach prepares kids for the academic rigors of CBSE, ICSE, or IB schools. The answer is yes. By the time our students graduate, they have developed self-discipline, a long attention span, and a genuine love for learning. They aren't just memorizing facts; they are learning how to learn. Whether your child is transitioning to a mainstream Grade 1 program or staying within the Montessori system, they leave Ayelet with a solid foundation of grace, courtesy, and academic curiosity.
Ayelet Montessori
Hi, I’m Falak. I founded Ayelet because I wanted a space that felt like a second home—a place where children are treated with the same respect as adults. I don’t just watch them learn; I witness the transformation as they go from being uncertain toddlers to curious, independent individuals who take pride in their own work.
