You do not need to be an artist to join. These retreats are about slowing down, untangling your mind, and letting your hands find their rhythm in nature.

A glimpse into our art therapy session, where participants translate their emotions into colors and shapes on a T-shirt. This video captures the journey from quiet introspection to joyful, uninhibited creation.

The session begins with me guiding the group through a visualization exercise. We create a safe and open atmosphere where everyone feels comfortable sharing and expressing themselves.

I start each healing art session by helping participants center themselves. Through guided meditation, we tap into our emotions, preparing to channel them onto the canvas without judgment or expectation.

As an art therapy facilitator, my role is to guide and support. Here, I'm explaining the process of letting intuition lead the way, encouraging everyone to trust their hands and their feelings.

A wider view of our setup for the mindful painting escape. Participants are seated in a circle, fostering a sense of community and shared experience as they embark on their personal creative journeys.

The process begins. With blank T-shirts as their canvas and a palette of colors before them, participants start the hands-on work of translating their inner landscapes into art.

There are no rules in mindful creation. Here, participants use their hands and brushes to create textures and shapes that feel true to them, from simple handprints to intricate patterns.

About Healing Art & Mindful Creation

We start every session with guided visualization and meditation to help you center yourself before picking up a brush. You will not be staring at a blank canvas wondering what to do; we provide all materials, including t-shirts and paints, so you can focus entirely on the process of expression rather than trying to achieve a specific result.

Whether you are feeling burnt out or simply looking to reconnect with a lost creative spark, these sessions serve as a safe space for emotional release. I structure these retreats to balance deep, intentional meditation with the spontaneity of messy art. We do not focus on technical mastery. Instead, we use alternative mediums like t-shirt painting and textured murals to give form to feelings that are often hard to put into words. It is less about creating a masterpiece and more about the therapeutic act of making.

Logistics and expectations:

  • Retreat Structure: Our domestic retreats typically include 2 nights of twin-sharing accommodation at nature resorts, full-board meals, and a complete art kit provided on-site. You focus on the travel and the intent; I manage the rest.
  • International Escapes: If you are interested in the travel side, I also organize cultural tours—like our sketching escapades in Hanoi or lantern making in Hoi An—where the goal remains the same: a travel sketchbook experience rather than a formal studio class.
  • No Experience Necessary: You do not need any prior artistic skill. The only requirement is an openness to try and a willingness to get a little messy.

This is not a space for art snobs. We operate in small groups to keep the experience intimate, allowing for genuine connection and shared stories as we explore the intersection of nature, local culture, and personal expression.

I am a doctor and an artist, and I believe my work is most honest when it is a bit messy. I do not teach you how to paint perfectly; I teach you how to let go and find your flow.
