International Art Adventures: The Vietnam Experience
A 5-day creative journey through Vietnam where we trade traditional sightseeing for sketching, lantern making, and deep cultural immersion. Whether you are a seasoned painter or just curious, this is your sketchbook coming to life.
Announcing my "Colors of Vietnam" art retreat, an exclusive journey from November 4th to 9th. This is your invitation to explore, create, and connect with a like-minded community, led by me, Dr. Ankita.
Day 1 begins in Danang. After settling in, we start with a calming art session on My Khe Beach before exploring the glowing Dragon Bridge and enjoying a welcome dinner together.
On Day 2, we journey to Ba Na Hills via a scenic cable car. The day is filled with exploring stunning sights like the Golden Bridge and Linh Ung Pagoda, soaking in inspiration from every angle.
Day 3 is an immersion into local life. We travel to Cam Thanh Coconut Village for a bamboo boat ride and later explore the ancient town of Hoi An, ending with a magical lantern boat ride on the river.
Day 4 combines creativity and culture with a hands-on lantern-making workshop after a morning market visit. In the afternoon, we fly to Hanoi and visit the Vietnam Fine Arts Museum to study the nation's artistic heritage.
Our final full day, Day 5, is spent exploring Hanoi's landmarks. The day includes an optional pottery class, a delicious street food tour, a traditional water puppet show, and a farewell dinner to celebrate our journey.
About International Art Adventures: The Vietnam Experience
I focus on the journey, not the final result. During these five days, we trade the tourist checklist for a sketchbook. You will try lantern making, pottery, and street sketching in Vietnam, but the real work happens when you stop worrying about technique and start engaging with the local culture. It is not a classroom workshop; it is five days of walking, eating, and creating in real time.
How We Travel
This is not a typical tour. I designed this 5-day experience for people who want to slow down and see a place through an artist's eyes. We move from the beaches of Danang to the ancient streets of Hoi An and the bustling rhythm of Hanoi. We do not just visit landmarks; we sketch them.
The Daily Rhythm
Each day is built around a balance of creative activity and exploration:
- Hands-on Learning: We spend mornings in workshops, including traditional lantern making in Hoi An and pottery sessions in Hanoi.
- Artistic Exploration: We visit museums and heritage sites, but with our sketchbooks in hand to capture details others might miss.
- Cultural Immersion: Food is part of the art. We explore local markets, street cafes, and authentic meals to get a true taste of the destination.
Practical Details
This is a land package, so you arrange your own international flights. Once you land, I take care of the rest, including domestic flights within Vietnam, boutique accommodation, and all workshops. This trip is designed for anyone who wants to express themselves without the pressure of having formal artistic training. Bring your curiosity and a comfortable pair of walking shoes; leave the need for perfection at home.
The Artist
I am a doctor by training and an artist by soul. I created these international retreats because I know how easy it is to lose yourself in daily routines. My goal is to help you find your flow again, whether that is sketching in a quiet Hanoi cafe or learning pottery.
