Nine emotions, nine mirrored canvases. Created in collaboration with Vibrant Technik, this series brings the Indian Navarasa to life through tactile, sculptural art.

Here I explain the concept behind the 'Navarasa' collection. It was a collaboration with Vibrant Technik to create 'the reflections of her,' exploring nine emotions like love, courage, and happiness.

From a simple sketch to a finished piece, this video shows the birth of the 'Navarasa' collection. You can see the process of cutting the shapes, applying the textured pulp, and filling them with the colors of emotion.

Revealing the full 'Navarasa' collection, 'Reflections of Her,' created for the Design Mumbai show. This series merges sculptural depth with mirrored surfaces to tell a story of femininity and emotion.

A look at our booth at the Design Mumbai show. This collaboration with Vibrant Technik brought together material innovation and textured artistry, with each of the nine 'Navarasa' pieces explained.

Art truly comes alive when people connect with it. This video shows visitors at the Design Mumbai show interacting with the 'Navarasa' collection and experiencing the 'reflections of her'.

A conversation with Sanjay Goyal from Vibrant Technik about our collaboration. We discuss the experimental process of bringing the 'Navarasa' concept to life using paper mache, gems, and color.

About Navarasa: Reflections of Emotion

Creating the Navarasa collection required moving beyond standard canvas work. To achieve the interplay between the textured paper mache sculptures and the reflective mirror surfaces, I worked closely with Vibrant Technik’s architectural materials. The result is a piece that changes as you move past it, reflecting your own emotions back at you.

When Sanjay from Vibrant Technik approached me to explore the Navarasa, the nine ancient Indian emotions, I knew it had to be a tactile experience. We moved away from traditional painting, choosing to layer handmade, upcycled paper pulp onto reflective, architectural-grade mirrors. This fusion creates a unique dialogue, you aren't just looking at an artwork, you are seeing yourself within the emotion.

The process was raw and experimental. We spent weeks in the studio figuring out how to balance the weight of the pulp against the smoothness of the mirror without compromising the integrity of the base. For emotions like Karuna (compassion) or Vira Rasa (courage), I used specific color palettes and relief depths to ensure the texture felt intentional and grounded.

Whether you are a brand looking for a statement installation or a collector wanting a piece that connects, this collection proves that art does not have to be static. It can be a mirror, a conversation starter, and a study in conscious design. If you are interested in commissioning a custom sculptural piece or exploring a brand collaboration that uses these techniques, let us talk. I am based in Breach Candy, Mumbai, and frequently travel for installations.
