Nine emotions, nine mirrored canvases. Created in collaboration with Vibrant Technik, this series brings the Indian Navarasa to life through tactile, sculptural art.

Here I explain the concept behind the 'Navarasa' collection. It was a collaboration with Vibrant Technik to create 'the reflections of her,' exploring nine emotions like love, courage, and happiness.

From a simple sketch to a finished piece, this video shows the birth of the 'Navarasa' collection. You can see the process of cutting the shapes, applying the textured pulp, and filling them with the colors of emotion.

About Navarasa: Reflections of Emotion

Creating the Navarasa collection required moving beyond standard canvas work. To achieve the interplay between the textured paper mache sculptures and the reflective mirror surfaces, I worked closely with Vibrant Technik’s architectural materials. The result is a piece that changes as you move past it, reflecting your own emotions back at you.

We believe art should feel like coming home. This installation, titled 'Terra', uses monumental, leaf-like forms to evoke the quiet and familiar feeling of walking on fallen leaves. The scale of the sculpture envelops the viewer, creating an emotional sanctuary that speaks to the cycle of nature, where everything returns to the primordial material of soil.10
This walkthrough installation explores the dialogue between tradition and industry. We meticulously hand-wove copper wires on a loom in our studio, creating a flowing, multi-dimensional sculpture. The metallic surface acts like a gleaming river, reflecting India's rich history while embracing a contemporary aesthetic.
We see soil as a material of immense complexity and beauty. For this installation, we explored its versatility by creating large, embracing surfaces with varied textures. This close-up reveals the intricate, de-bossed patterns that suggest the quiet strength and nurturing character of the earth itself.
