The Awakening Cycle: Sculptural Wall Art by Shruti Jhaveri
My signature series, The Awakening Cycle, explores transformation through layered, tactile sculpture. Each circular piece uses upcycled paper to map the flow of inner growth.
Every creation begins with a quiet moment of intention. Here you can see the initial sketches and digital drawings where the first forms of 'The Awakening Cycle' started to take shape.

About The Awakening Cycle: A Sculptural Journey
These circular sculptures are built layer by layer using my signature upcycled paper pulp, which makes them lightweight yet rigid enough to hold intricate, heavy textures. Because the paper responds differently each time I manipulate it, no two pieces are identical, even if they share the same concept of transformation. When you hang these, you are not just putting up art, you are adding a breathing, three-dimensional element to your space that changes as the daylight moves across the room.
The Awakening Cycle is a reflection of my personal journey, where I translate emotional milestones into tangible forms. I chose the circular canvas because it represents the infinite, non-linear path of self-discovery.
My process is meditative. I mix, mold, and layer raw paper pulp until it forms a sculpture that feels alive. Once dry, I use mixed media, gold leaf, and high-relief techniques to guide the eye along the piece. Whether it is the 48-inch statement series or the intimate 36-inch pieces, every sculpture is built on a sturdy fiber backing to ensure longevity.
These pieces work exceptionally well in transition spaces like hallways, living room focal walls, or mindful corners. If you are looking to commission a specific piece for your home or office, I work closely with you to understand the narrative you want to reflect. I create detailed digital visualizations and physical samples so you can see the texture depth before we begin the final production. From the first sketch to the final seal, a custom commission typically takes four to six weeks. Let’s talk about which phase of awakening you want to bring into your space.
