My Yoga Journey as a Mother
I’m Aparna. These snapshots aren't just about poses; they are my personal milestones in navigating the beautiful, messy, and transformative path of motherhood alongside yoga.
Practicing Natarajasana at home reminds me that all moms are full time moms, whether they work outside the home or not. We are all doing our best. My classes are a judgment free zone where we support each other and find strength in our shared experience.
This pose embodies the 'Butterfly Woman' I often talk about, a figure of immense strength and soul. My goal is to help you connect with that powerful, wild woman inside you through our shared yoga practice, long after your baby has arrived.
I took this photo while pregnant, practicing a supported headstand with my dog Cinnamon for company. My routine was so different then, and I know how challenging it is to find time for yourself as a new mom. I've been there, and I design my classes to help you navigate this new life.
About My Journey as a Mother and Yogi
Before my daughter arrived, my morning yoga routine was my anchor for everything. Now, my practice has evolved into something fluid, messy, and entirely different. These photos show that transition, moving from the controlled stillness of pregnancy to the responsive, adaptive strength I need as a mom today.
My classes are built on this evolution. I don't teach from a place of theoretical perfection. I teach from the reality of being a new mom who sometimes practices with a baby nearby or while the dog naps. When you join my Hatha Vinyasa or postnatal recovery sessions, you aren't just learning asanas. You are learning to trust your body’s instincts, manage pelvic floor health, and find moments of sanity in a busy day.
Whether you need prenatal support to prep for birth or want to safely rebuild core strength after delivery, we start where you are. We focus on functional, safe movement that respects where your body is right now, not where it was years ago or where you think it should be. It is not about reaching a specific goal; it is about building a sustainable habit that supports your life as a mother. If you are ready to find that balance, come join the tribe.
