The Spiritual Path: Philosophy and Meditation
Yoga is not just exercise; it is the path to rebalance your body, mind, and spirit. Explore our approach to traditional philosophy, meditative practices, and energy work.
"Aham Brahmasmi," meaning "I am the ultimate reality." This Mahavakya from the Upanishads is central to Advaita Vedanta philosophy, which we explore in our course to understand the unity of the individual soul and the cosmic spirit.
Shiva is there where the seeker becomes absorbed in meditation. This is a moment of Shiva Aradhana, a practice that helps balance the body's energy, calm the mind, and connect with divine consciousness for spiritual growth.
A glimpse into a Shiva Aradhana meditation session at my studio. Through such practices, we aim to quiet the mind, remove negative thoughts, and experience a state of inner peace and spiritual awareness.
This image from one of our texts illustrates "Kundalini: A Tantric Path." Understanding Kundalini energy is a vital part of the spiritual journey, and I guide my students on how to walk this path of truth safely.
"Reunion with Shiva" is the ultimate goal for a spiritual seeker. My teachings, based on ancient scriptures, are designed to guide you on the path of Dharma and help you overcome worldly complexities to move towards salvation.
"Why the Shivlingam? Mystery, Symbol, and Spiritual Meaning." This chapter from our study material delves into the profound symbolism behind sacred icons, helping students connect with the deeper, esoteric aspects of yoga.
"The Mysterious Path of Concentration: Dharana." As one of the limbs of yoga, Dharana is a key practice we cultivate. It is the discipline that steadies the mind and prepares it for deep meditation.
This illustration depicts "Man," the mind, often compared to a restless deer. In our philosophy classes, we study the nature of the mind and learn yogic techniques to tame its wanderings and achieve inner stillness.
Here, my students practice asanas to activate the seven chakras. We move through Tree Pose for the Root Chakra, Shoulder Stand for the Throat Chakra, and Headstand for the Crown Chakra to balance the body's energy centers.
Breathing is the foundation of life and yoga. This diagram explains a simple diaphragmatic breathing technique that increases oxygen levels, calms the nervous system, and strengthens the lungs, which is a core part of our pranayama training.
About The Spiritual Path: Philosophy & Meditation
Here, meditation is not just about closing your eyes. We integrate mantra chanting, Shiva Aradhana, and the study of Yoga Sutras into every session. Whether you are exploring Kundalini or looking to understand the mechanics of the mind, you will find a practice that goes beyond the physical mat and into the depth of your consciousness.
In our philosophy and meditation sessions at Adi Anant Yoga Studio, we return to the ancient roots of the practice. Many students come to us for our 200-hour teacher training, but they stay because of the depth of the Vedic sciences we explore.
Understanding the Mind and Focus
We often describe the mind as a restless deer. Through Dharana (concentration), we teach you to steady your focus. You will learn to use specific mantras, breathwork (Pranayama), and meditation techniques to bypass daily stress and enter states of deeper awareness. This is the foundation of mental clarity.
Chakra and Energy Alignment
It is not enough to know the poses; you must understand the energy centers. Our classes cover the activation of all seven chakras. We connect specific postures—like the Shoulder Stand for the throat or Tree Pose for the root—to their corresponding energy channels. This helps you balance your internal energy, or Prana, effectively.
The Path of Truth
Our curriculum includes deep dives into Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the essence of Advaita Vedanta. When you study with us in Saket, you are not just learning to perform asanas; you are learning to live by the principles of Dharma and Satya (Truth). If you are ready to move past the superficial and engage with the spiritual science of yoga, our studio provides the environment and guidance to help you walk this path safely.
