About The Ügam Exhibition: Our Graduates' Debut
You are looking at more than just finished ceramics; this is the culmination of our intensive professional course. Each piece represents months of discipline, from the long hours of mastering glaze chemistry to the inevitable frustration of failed firings, and finally, the breakthrough where a student’s unique voice emerges. When you pick up a piece, you are holding the result of a deliberate, 1000-hour journey.
Ügam, which translates to emergence, is the heartbeat of A Ware Studio. It began three years ago as a simple experiment: could we make the first step into the professional pottery world less daunting for our students? What started as a small platform has grown into a vibrant exhibition and sale where our community comes together.
The Journey to Ügam
Our professional mentorship is a 1000-hour commitment. It is not just about learning to throw on the wheel; it is about understanding production, glaze chemistry, and the reality of the business. By the time a student reaches Ügam, they have spent months testing their limits.
Meet the Makers
This showcase highlights the diverse voices that have grown within our studio walls:
- Sundari and The Kolam Collection: Inspired by the fleeting nature of daily floor rituals in Madurai, her work explores impermanence and heritage.
- Aastha and The Dhora Collection: Drawing from the shifting dunes, her pieces bridge the gap between form and function, perfect for daily rituals like coffee and design.
- Bhavya and The Gulbaan Collection: Her hand-carved florals bring a soft, vintage charm to rustic forms, creating pieces that feel like home.
Beyond the Sale
We host this event at the Bangalore International Centre because Ügam is not about transactions. It is about conversations. It is a space where you can meet the people who live with our work, seek feedback, and share the gratitude that fuels our studio. We invite you to be part of this celebration of growth, courage, and the quiet revolutions that unfold in clay.
