After yoga practice, Yoga Nidra is essential for body and mind rejuvenation. This video shows the transition from active asana to deep, conscious relaxation.
The Cross Leg Walk is a simple yet effective exercise to improve posture and enhance body coordination. I demonstrate the technique in this short video.

About Learn the Practice: Asana & Pranayama
When you're dealing with back pain, the way you move off the mat matters just as much as the practice itself. I always tell my students: never get up from a flat position straight—always roll to your side first. It is small details like these, along with the correct use of props like yoga wheels and belts, that turn simple stretching into real, therapeutic healing.
Foundation Matters
Yoga is a system of healing, not just a workout. Many students come to me having tried generic routines that didn't help, or worse, aggravated their existing issues. Here, we focus on the mechanics of each movement. Whether we are doing Surya Namaskar (Sun Salutation) or Ardhapadma Paschimottanasana, the goal is to align your body so you don't just 'do' the pose, but benefit from it.
Why We Use Props
I often use Iyengar-style rope walls, yoga wheels, and blocks in class. These aren't shortcuts. They are tools that help you find the correct alignment even if you currently lack flexibility or strength. For example, if you cannot reach your toes in a forward bend, we use a belt to maintain the stretch without straining your lower back. This allows you to work safely on your haathon ki taaqat (strength) and spine flexibility without the risk of injury.
Targeted Pranayama
Breath is the bridge between your physical body and your mind. We don't just practice random breathing. We focus on specific techniques like Ujjayi Pranayama for thyroid regulation or simple rhythmic breathing to manage stress. By syncing your breath with your movement—Shwaas bharo, shwaas chodo—you activate the parasympathetic nervous system, which is essential for chronic pain management and recovery.
My Teaching Philosophy
I keep my classes small, with 12 to 15 people, so I can provide hands-on corrections. If your alignment is off, I will be there to adjust it. We aren't here to judge your flexibility; we are here to improve it through lagataar abhyaas (regular practice). If you have specific issues like sciatica, cervical pain, or frozen shoulder, please let me know before we start so I can modify the sequence for you.
