Yoga Therapy Techniques for Pain Relief and Alignment
Yoga is more than just poses. We use specific props, mudras, and breathwork to address your unique needs—whether it is managing chronic pain, reducing stress, or improving your metabolism. Let's start exactly where you are.
Release is a process, not a single event. This video shows various gentle movements and stretches we use to slowly unwind tension from the body and mind.
Yoga blocks are fantastic tools for support. Here, they help maintain balance and proper alignment in a squatting pose, allowing for a deeper hip opening without compromising form.
Using a stretch band in Natarajasana (dancer's pose) helps to safely deepen the backbend and open the shoulders, making the full expression of the pose more accessible.
Yoga is for everyone. Here, a client practices Setubandhasana (bridge pose), a powerful asana for strengthening the back, glutes, and hamstrings, which is excellent for relieving lower back pain.
Our practice goes beyond physical postures. This is the Surya Mudra, a hand gesture used in meditation to stimulate the fire element (Agni), which can help improve metabolism and aid in weight loss.
About Techniques for Healing & Alignment
Before we begin any practice, I take the time to listen to your specific discomfort, whether it is stubborn lower back pain or daily stress. I do not use copy-paste routines. Instead, we customize your session by incorporating blocks for hip support or Surya Mudra to boost metabolism, carefully adjusting every movement to your body's current needs.
A Personalised Approach to Healing
My philosophy is that yoga is a 'work-in', not a 'work-out'. When you come to me with a goal—be it weight management, hormone balance, or relief from physical pain—we do not jump into intense fitness routines. We start by understanding your body's constraints.
How We Use Props and Techniques
Many people think yoga requires extreme flexibility, but that is a myth. Props are there to help you access the healing benefits of an asana safely.
- Blocks: We use them for stability in postures like squats to open hips without straining your knees or lower back.
- Stretch Bands: These are essential for deepening backbends like Natarajasana while keeping your shoulders and spine safe.
- Mudras: Hand gestures like the Surya Mudra help stimulate the Agni (fire) element, which can assist in improving metabolism.
Your Path to Recovery
Whether you join me at my Munirka studio or we connect online for a one-on-one session, the focus remains entirely on you. We mix Hatha and Restorative yoga, pranayama, and sometimes shatkarma to cleanse the system. This is about sustainable healing that fits into your daily rhythm, not a rigid fitness regimen. My role is to help you build strength, alignment, and peace, one session at a time.
