My Yoga Journey to Motherhood at 42

I found yoga when doctors told me I wouldn't conceive. This is my personal path—a story of intuition, alignment, and finally holding my daughter, Kalindi.

Doctors told me I would never conceive naturally, but I trusted my intuition and my yoga practice. It led me to an easy, unmedicated pregnancy and the greatest gift of my life. This video is a message of hope for anyone on their own journey.

This is a look back at my own transformation. The woman in this photo from years ago doesn't know it yet, but she is about to lose weight, become a published author, and build a yoga career from scratch. I am so grateful for the journey.

How it started versus how it's going. From our wedding in 2021 to expecting our baby in 2024. A very special anniversary and a journey filled with love and adventure.

2024 was a milestone year. I became a mother and reveled in the magic. My yoga practice changed to accommodate my body, my heart expanded, and I learned that softness is also strength. This video is a recap of a year of profound growth.

Conceiving at 42 felt like a blessing. Yoga was the guiding force that connected me to my body, heart, and soul, opening the door to this incredible gift. This video is a celebration of motherhood arriving at any stage of life.

This is a professional maternity photo of me, draped in a traditional saree. It captures the beauty and sacredness I felt during my pregnancy, a feeling I try to share in all my classes.

A moment of joy from our maternity photoshoot. Sharing this journey with my husband has been a beautiful experience of connection and anticipation.

About this collection

My pregnancy wasn't just physical. It was about learning to use props like bolsters, chairs, and wall ropes to support my changing body, not straining against it. I teach my students exactly this: how to adapt their practice so it supports them, whether they are trying to conceive, currently pregnant, or recovering postpartum.

My journey to motherhood at 42 was far from linear. When medical professionals suggested natural conception was unlikely, I turned to the yoga practice that had been my anchor for years. I stopped fighting my body and started listening to it. I practiced a form of Iyengar yoga that was deeply adaptive, focused on precision and alignment rather than intensity.

Through pregnancy, my mat became a place of refuge. I leaned on wall ropes to manage pelvic pressure and used bolsters for restorative sequences that kept my anxiety at bay. This isn't just about asanas. It is about creating an internal environment where life can thrive. Whether you are dealing with PCOS, navigating IVF, or simply seeking a way to keep your body strong and supple during pregnancy, I teach the tools I used to get here.

How I work with you

  • Fertility & PCOS: We focus on hormonal balance and stress reduction, using gentle, supported postures to calm the nervous system.
  • Prenatal Alignment: We use props like chairs and blocks to create space for your baby while relieving back and pelvic pain.
  • Postpartum Reconnection: After a C-section or natural birth, the goal is not to 'bounce back.' We focus on core recovery and structural realignment, moving slowly and with intention.

If you are looking for a practice that respects your timeline and your body's wisdom, you are in the right place. Let’s connect on WhatsApp to discuss where you are in your journey.
