Prenatal Yoga: Gentle Strength for Your Pregnancy
Pregnancy isn't about rigid routines or 'perfect' poses. It’s about creating space, relieving aches, and finding a calm rhythm that works for you and your baby.
A beautiful moment from a private prenatal yoga class, where my client is using a fit ball for a supported forward bend. This pose helps to release tension in the lower back and create space in the pelvis, demonstrating how we adapt practices for the unique needs of pregnancy.
About Prenatal Yoga
We use props like Swiss balls and bolsters not just for comfort, but to safely release deep-seated tension in your lower back and pelvis. During our 60-minute sessions, we don't force rigid asanas; we move based on how your body feels that day—whether it's managing sciatica, improving posture, or using Pranayama to calm your nervous system.
Many of the moms I work with in Juhu and Bandra come to me because they want to stay active but are nervous about overdoing it. That’s where my approach to pregnancy yoga shines. In our private sessions, we move away from high-intensity flows and focus entirely on support and safety. Whether you’re navigating the early stages of pregnancy or the later trimesters where space is tight, we prioritize your comfort above all else.
We integrate safe pelvic floor exercises and specific breathing techniques to help prepare your body for labor and recovery. If you are in Mumbai, I come to your home with all the necessary equipment—cork blocks, straps, and bolsters—so you don't have to stress about the setup. For those outside the city or traveling, my virtual 1-on-1 sessions are designed to be effective even in small apartments, using clear verbal cues to guide your alignment safely without physical touch. This isn't about 'getting your body back'—it's about honoring and strengthening the body you are in right now.
