Yoga feels more intuitive when you learn in your own language. Here, I break down every asana—from basic standing poses to deep stretches—with clear alignment cues in Kannada, ensuring you practice safely and effectively.

Here I teach Virabhadrasana 1, or Warrior 1, in Kannada. This pose is excellent for activating the lower body and releasing shoulder tension, especially for those who sit or drive for long hours.

This is a tutorial for Kapotasana, or Pigeon Pose, in Kannada. It's a fantastic hip-opening asana that is also beneficial for relieving lower back pain. I explain how to enter the pose safely from Dandasana.

About Yoga in Kannada (ಕನ್ನಡದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಗ)

Learning a new asana is easier when you understand the mechanics in your own language. I focus on specific alignment cues, like 'nimma bennannu straight aagi itkolli' (keep your back straight), to ensure you don't strain your body. Whether we are practicing a warrior sequence or hip openers, my instructions in Kannada help you connect the breath with the movement, preventing injury and building confidence on the mat.

Why I Teach in Kannada

Yoga is a journey of understanding your own body. Many students feel intimidated by complex Sanskrit terminology or English-only instructions. By offering guidance in Kannada, I make the therapeutic benefits of yoga more accessible to my students here in Bengaluru. My goal is to ensure you never have to guess whether you are doing a pose correctly.

What You Will Learn

In these sessions, we focus on:

  • Precision Alignment: I explain the 'why' and 'how' of every posture. You will learn to engage your muscles correctly, which is the key to preventing injuries like lower back strain or knee pain.
  • Therapeutic Focus: Whether it is using Kapotasana (Pigeon Pose) to release hip tension or Virabhadrasana (Warrior Pose) for shoulder stability, every movement is adapted for your specific physical needs.
  • Breath Awareness: Yoga is not just stretching; it is linking breath to movement. I provide instructions on when to inhale and exhale, helping you calm your nervous system while you strengthen your body.

Who is this for?

These classes are perfect if you are a beginner who finds yoga postures confusing, or if you prefer a mother-tongue explanation to grasp the nuances of asana practice. Whether you join my in-person sessions at my Koramangala rooftop studio or tune in online, the instruction style remains consistent: calm, clear, and focused entirely on your progress. You do not need to be flexible to start; you just need to be willing to listen to your body.
