An inside look at my rhythm, from solo recitals to classical accompaniment. This collection highlights the diverse musical spaces I inhabit as a dedicated practitioner of the tabla.

This is a clip from a solo performance where I am presenting a traditional Gat from the Farukhabad gharana, a style passed down by the great Ustad Amir Hussain Khan Sahab. It showcases the intricate fingerwork and powerful rhythm that is central to my solo recitals.

A moment of musical dialogue with the phenomenal maestro Pandit Niladri Kumar ji during a concert in Bhuvneshwar. Performing with him on his electric Zitar is always an exploration of how traditional tabla can blend with contemporary sounds.

On stage at the prestigious Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Mahotsav in Sangli. It was an honor to accompany my Guruji, Padma Bhushan Pandit Ajoy Chakrabarty ji, at such a revered event celebrating a legend of Indian classical music.

A very special memory from a Bangalore concert with my Guruji, Pandit Yogesh Samsi ji. This clip shows us backstage preparing, and then on stage together. Learning from him and performing with him is the greatest blessing of my life.

A candid moment captured during a performance. For me, music is a conversation, and this image reflects the joy and connection I feel when I share the stage with fellow artists and an appreciative audience.

Here I am attempting some 'upaj ang,' or improvisation, during a small, intimate baithak. This is where I explore new rhythmic ideas spontaneously, building on the foundations of traditional compositions.

A wide view of the beautifully arranged "Ragas by the River" concert in Jim Corbett. I had the honor of performing alongside the legendary Ustad Amjad Ali Khan's family, a truly memorable experience in a serene setting.

A humbling moment receiving a felicitation after my tabla solo performance in Bangalore. The appreciation from organizers and the audience is the greatest reward for any artist and motivates me to continue my journey.

About Featured

Whether I am performing a solo Farukhabad gharana piece or providing sangat for a vocalist, I prioritize precise tuning above all else. I carry multiple dayans to match the exact pitch of the main artist, ensuring the rhythmic balance remains perfect throughout the entire performance.

My journey with the tabla is rooted in deep respect for my gurus, especially Pt. Yogesh Samsi ji, and the great masters who came before us. This gallery showcases the different facets of my work, which ranges from intricate solo recitals to the delicate art of accompaniment.

When I perform solo, I focus on the rich compositions of the Punjab and Delhi gharanas. These recitals are a conversation with the audience, where I explore Peshkar, Kayda, and Rela with spontaneous improvisation, or what we call upaj. It is an exploration of the mathematical and the emotional side of rhythm.

In contrast, my role as an accompanist is entirely different. Whether I am supporting a vocal performance, a sitar recital, or an electric Zitar setup, my goal is to serve the music. Sangat requires deep listening. I am there to elevate the main artist, providing a supportive rhythmic canvas that breathes with them. I have had the honor of performing alongside legendary maestros and sharing the stage at venues ranging from intimate baithaks to large-scale festivals like the Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Mahotsav.

If you are planning a classical concert, a corporate fusion event, or an intimate musical gathering, I ensure that my sound profile is tuned to the venue requirements. I am comfortable working with diverse sound systems and can coordinate with other musicians to ensure a seamless experience.
