About Tabla Performance Services
What Drives My Tabla
Tabla is my whole world. I see every show as a chance to connect, whether it’s through deep-rooted tradition or just sharing a moment with listeners. For me, the beats aren’t just noise - they’re stories. Sometimes they speak straight to the heart, sometimes they challenge, but they always mean something.
What I Offer
- Tabla solo recitals - a real dive into the raw, intricate world of rhythm. I mix Kayda, Rela, Gat and draw from gharana tabla techniques: Farukhabad, Punjab, Banaras, Ajrada, Delhi. Usually, a lehra artist joins me for that melodic backdrop.
- Classical music accompaniment (Sangat) - this is about supporting, not hogging the spotlight. I’ve done sangat for vocals, sitar, sarod, flute, slide guitar, and santoor - sometimes with true legends.
- Collaborations and fusion - I like trying new stuff too. Jugalbandi (duets) with drummers, tabla fusion performances with electric Zitar, sometimes even folk and ghazal mixes. Bit of upaj ang ki koshish bhi kar leta hoon (I try a bit of improvisation too).
What Matters to Me
I owe everything to my gurus, especially Pt. Yogesh Samsi ji. My playing always tries to honor the classics - Allarakha Khan Sahab, Amir Hussain Khan. I’m here for the real music, the old and the new, and for anyone who wants to feel it with me.

My Story
Namaskar. I’m Yashwant Vaishnav, tabla is my saathi (companion) from Mumbai. For me, it’s not just an instrument – it’s my pooja (worship), my daily routine. My Guruji, Pt. Yogesh Samsi ji, Ustad Zakir Hussain ji… their blessings, I carry close. Music for me is sharing – jamming with my brothers in Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, even Abu Dhabi, it’s all magic. Audience ki energy (energy from the audience) – that’s what keeps me going. Hope we meet at a concert soon!

Collaborative Performances - I love creating magic on stage with other musicians, whether it’s a classical concert or a fresh album launch.
Tabla Classes & Workshops - I teach tabla workshops for beginners and serious students. If you’re dedicated, reach out for classes.
Traditional & Upaj Style - My playing follows the old masters, with a focus on improvisational upaj compositions and traditional pieces.
