Practical Striking and Boxing Basics Training
No movies, no flashy stunts. Just raw boxing fundamentals and effective striking to handle yourself in any real-world situation.
Pad work is where we sharpen our tools. I'm working with a student on his combinations, head movement, and footwork.

Working the heavy bag is essential for developing power and conditioning. This is where you put in the reps and build your endurance.
A light sparring session with headgear. Safety is important, but so is getting used to throwing and receiving punches in a controlled environment.
I don't train for show. I train to be effective. Every punch on the heavy bag is thrown with purpose.
Head movement is a critical defensive skill. Here I am working on slipping and rolling punches during a pad work session.
A glimpse into a sparring session. This is where you learn to read your opponent and apply the techniques you've drilled.
A montage of striking and grappling. My training philosophy is about being a complete martial artist, comfortable both on the feet and on the ground.
In the ring during a sparring session. This is the closest you can get to a real fight in a training environment.
A student practicing her defensive movements and footwork. Self-defense is for everyone, and we start with the basics.
About Striking & Boxing Basics
We don't do fancy footwork for the cameras here. Our striking sessions at VAJRA MMA are about getting your basics right—slipping, head movement, and throwing punches that actually connect. You’ll be training in a raw, non-AC environment because that’s where the real growth happens. It gets sweaty, it gets tough, but that’s the only way to build a fighter’s conditioning.
Focus on the Fundamentals
If you want to learn how to throw a punch that counts, you have to stop looking for shortcuts. My striking training is built on boxing fundamentals. We spend time on head movement, slipping, and counter-punching. You aren't here to look cool; you are here to be effective.
Why the Training is Tough
Real fights aren't comfortable, so the training won't be either. We use heavy bags and pad work to build your endurance. You cannot fight if you run out of gas in thirty seconds. That is why conditioning is a huge part of our boxing drills.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need previous experience? No. Whether you are a total beginner or looking to sharpen your existing game, we start from the ground up.
Is there sparring? Yes, but it is supervised and controlled. Sparring is how you test your reflexes and learn to read an opponent, but safety is non-negotiable. We use headgear and focus on timing and defense.
Where do I train? I train at VAJRA MMA in Sector 72, Noida. It is a dedicated, no-frills space. Expect fans, sweat, and hard work.
Kapil Gupta
I'm Kapil. I didn't come from money or a big gym background, just a lot of hours on the mats figuring things out for myself. I teach the striking skills that I’ve used in my own fights, focusing on basics that actually work when you're under pressure.
