Our apparel is designed for the tropical climate, using pre-washed mulmul cotton and linen blends that soften with every wear. Because every piece is hand-block printed by our artisan partners in Bagru, you will notice unique dye variations—this is not a defect, but a sign that your garment was crafted by hand, not a machine.

Crafting for Comfort

We didn’t set out to build a typical fashion brand. Varnam was born from a search for clothing that feels like an extension of home. Our apparel range, including gender-neutral Cuban shirts and anti-fit kaftans, is made primarily from 60s count cotton and breathable linen blends. We avoid synthetic feel, opting instead for materials that breathe in our heat.

The Bagru Process

Our prints are not factory-made. We work directly with artisan clusters in Bagru and Sanganer to source authentic, hand-block printed textiles. Using natural and AZO-free dyes, our artisans press intricate, proprietary motifs—from elephants to playful geometric shapes—onto the fabric. This slow, manual process means no two shirts or sarees are identical. When you wear a piece from our collection, you are wearing a conversation between hand and heritage.

Sarees with a Soul

Our mulmul sarees are an exercise in 'the joy of just enough.' We produce these in small batches, ensuring the fabric is butter-soft on the skin. Each saree comes with an attached contrast blouse piece, but the material is versatile enough to be styled in multiple ways. Whether you are looking for a playful polka-dot drape or a classic floral print, these are pieces meant to be worn, lived in, and passed down.

Gift-Ready Presentation

We believe the experience of receiving a product is as important as the product itself. Our stoles, crafted from soft Bagru-printed cotton, come packaged in reusable Channapatna wooden boxes. This creates a functional, heirloom-quality gift that avoids the waste of modern packaging.
