About Handcrafted Apparel & Accessories
Our Design Ethos
I didn’t set out to build a regular fashion brand. What grew here is a line of handcrafted apparel and accessories that’s about soul, not just style. You’ll find designs that whisper, not shout - easy prints and weaves that feel good on your skin and look good without trying too hard.
Everyday Comfort: Shirts, Sarees & More
- Our journey began with searching for a simple, comfy shirt. Now, we’ve got gender-neutral silhouettes - Cuban shirts, kaftans, anti-fit cuts, all in breathable cotton. Most patterns are handblock printed in Bagru, and yes, the new ones are in natural dyes.
- Sarees? I make them in small batches, using soft mulmul cotton. Each one’s got a playful print - cats, elephants, you name it. Every saree comes with a contrast blouse fabric, but honestly, the material’s so versatile, you can use it any way you like.
For Kids: Thoughtful Choices
- We teamed up with Sankalpa Art Village to craft sustainable baby apparel - soothing handloom Kora cotton, dyed with plants like manjistha and harada. Designs are fun, inspired by our wooden Channapatna toys.
Statement Jewellery
- Our Channapatna jewellery is seriously light, made with organic dyes and wood. The bangles actually make that sweet wooden sound, and each piece is a small slice of wearable art.
Bags & Scarves
- Handwoven bags mix tradition and function - think Madras-check laptop bags. Unisex cotton stoles come packed in reusable Channapatna wooden boxes, blending two crafts in one.
Real Craft, Real Stories
We work directly with artisans - folks like Pallavi and Hameed, who say, “Ee kalena innu munduvarisbeku anta namma aase” (We want this art to move forward) and “Bahut lagaav ke saath hum bhi kaam karte hain” (We work with a lot of attachment). Every piece is a conversation between hand and heritage.

My Story
Hey, we’re Varnam. Craft’s our heartbeat, not the algorithm. I started out dreaming music, ended up spinning stories with wood and colour. No fancy design degrees here, just memories—like amma’s old urga jaadis (pickle jars) and those Chettinad koodais (baskets) from temple runs. We make things that feel like home, not showroom. Walk into our Bangalore, Mysore, or Goa spaces, you’re not just shopping, you’re keeping a tradition alive. That’s what matters.
