We celebrate success at every level. Here are our Grand Championship winners from the 10th United Cup 2024, proudly displaying their trophies. This represents the pinnacle of achievement in both Kata and Kumite for our senior athletes.
Progression is a core part of the karate journey. A proud moment as one of our youngest students receives her certificate and new belt during a grading examination, marking a successful step forward in her martial arts development.
Our legacy of international competition began with our first tour to Malaysia in 2006. This photograph marks the start of a long history of representing India and securing medals on the global stage, a tradition we proudly continue today.
Our students consistently demonstrate excellence at the state level. This collage celebrates our winners from the Maharashtra State Karate Championship 2025, showcasing their hard-earned bronze medals in a highly competitive tournament.

What UBKA Means to Us

We started United Budokan Karate Academy to be more than just a place to learn kicks and punches. For 30+ years, we've built a family in Thane and Navi Mumbai, and honestly, it’s the sense of belonging that keeps us going. Every new student becomes part of this journey with us - from shy beginner to confident karateka.

What We Teach

Our foundation is Karate Budokan International, so you’ll learn karate exactly how it’s meant to be taught. We focus on:

  • Karate kata forms – technique, posture, discipline.
  • Karate sparring techniques – safe environment to test skills, learn timing and strategy.
  • Karate belt progression – clear path, exams, and support at every stage.

Kids, teens, adults – it doesn’t matter. All are welcome. We’ve helped over 400 students reach black belt, but we know not everyone is chasing medals. Some just want to get fitter. Some want confidence. Some want to compete.

Training Options at UBKA

  • In-person group classes at our dojos in Thane and Navi Mumbai or in community halls nearby.

My Story

Namaskar! We’re United Budokan Karate Academy, but most folks just say UBKA. Started out in Thane in 1989, one small group, big dreams. Now, our family’s waving the Indian flag at international karate meets in places like Malaysia and Dubai. Every win, every medal, feels like a group celebration. Even during tough times, we stuck together, held online events, kept the UBKA spirit alive. Here, you walk in as a stranger, but leave unforgettable.
