Karate Training, Technique & Belt Gradings
We teach karate as a structured path, not just a sport. Rooted in the Karate Budokan International curriculum, our training builds discipline, precise technique, and steady progress from beginner to black belt.

Discipline and respect are fundamental to our training. Students line up before their instructors during a belt examination, a formal process that tests their skills and understanding of karate principles.
About this collection
Every session at our dojos is structured to build both technical skill and mental discipline. We follow the official Karate Budokan International (KBI) curriculum for Kata and Kumite, ensuring you understand the mechanics behind every movement. Whether you are stepping onto the mat for the first time or preparing for your next belt grading, our instructors provide direct, hands-on guidance to correct your posture, timing, and sparring strategy.
Our Approach to Mastery
At UBKA, we believe karate is a journey defined by consistency. Since 1989, we have operated with a singular focus: authentic Karate Budokan International training. We do not rush this process. Our classes, conducted across Thane and Navi Mumbai, run 3 sessions per week to ensure students have time to absorb the techniques taught in the previous class.
The Belt Progression System
Belt grading is the cornerstone of our training. It is not merely a formality; it is an examination of discipline. Students undergo rigorous testing on KBI standards, covering:
- Kata (Forms): Perfecting the sequence of movements to build focus and power.
- Kumite (Sparring): Applying techniques in a controlled environment to develop speed and reaction.
- Discipline: Demonstrating the respect and etiquette expected of a karateka.
Training Environment
We train in local community halls, such as Orkid Academy and Shehanai Hall, using standard non-slip EVA puzzle mats to ensure safety during high-intensity practice. Our batch sizes are kept to 20 to 30 students, allowing our black belt instructors to observe and correct individual form. We welcome students of all ages—kids, teens, and adults—who are serious about learning traditional karate. When you join, you are enrolled with a lifetime registration in the KBI lineage, giving you a recognized path that is valid worldwide.
