Commercial & Recreational Spaces Design

For the GOAT Club project in Horamavu, we balanced professional-grade requirements with our signature sustainable aesthetic. By using a pre-engineered building (PEB) shed for the structure, we achieved the necessary column-free span for four badminton courts while keeping construction costs efficient. We then softened the interior with exposed brickwork to create a warm, inviting lounge area that breaks away from the typical cold industrial feel of sports facilities.

When designing commercial and institutional projects, our focus shifts to scale, flow, and long-term viability. We believe that a large-scale project should not sacrifice the environment for efficiency. Our master planning approach for campuses, such as the Urban Gurukul school, centers on passive cooling and smart zoning.

Designing for Flow and Safety

In large facilities, traffic management is just as important as the building design. We create segregated movement plans that separate pedestrian paths from vehicle drop-off zones and emergency access loops. This ensures safety without cluttering the site with excessive signage or barriers.

Climate-Responsive Siting

We position blocks based on natural light and wind paths. By utilizing stack effects and wind fins, we ensure that administrative and academic areas remain comfortable throughout the day, significantly reducing the reliance on artificial cooling. For recreational spaces, we incorporate sensory landscapes—like amphitheatres and tactile pathways—that make the environment interactive and engaging.

Structural Efficiency

For structures like sports clubs, we favor PEB (Pre-Engineered Building) sheds for their durability and speed. This allows us to achieve large, column-free internal spaces which are essential for sport activities, while keeping material costs in check. We integrate rainwater harvesting and greywater recycling systems into the landscape plan, ensuring that the facility remains self-sufficient for its irrigation needs.
