My Yoga Journey: Building YogaDhara from Scratch
This is the story of YogaDhara—a space born not in a corporate office, but in a dusty park with one mat and a relentless desire to find purpose.
This is a raw, behind-the-scenes look at building my studio, YogaDhara. From the stress of unfinished paint the day before opening to the excitement of seeing the mats and blocks arrive, this was day 12 of making my dream a reality.
This is YogaDhara, a space born from a dream that started in a dusty park. Here I am, in my studio, ready to guide others. This place is a rebellion against fear and a home for those who want to move their life, not just their body.
My Guru changed my life. This image shows an intense adjustment, a testament to his teaching style: "Wapas nahi aana hai!" (Don't come back!). He taught me discipline, surrender, and the true meaning of devotion.
This is another moment with my Guru. His presence taught me more than words ever could. He pushed me the hardest because he saw something in me, and that belief shaped me into the teacher I am today.
Here, my Guru uses a chair and blocks to guide a student into a deep scorpion pose. I learned from him how to use props not as a crutch, but as a tool to unlock the body's potential safely and intelligently.
The bond between a Guru and a student is built on trust and surrender. This image captures the intensity and focus of our practice. Every correction, every moment, was a lesson I absorbed completely.
This is an advanced partner stretch using the wall, a technique I learned during my training. It shows the level of trust and physical openness that can be achieved through dedicated practice under the right guidance.
This was a manifestation moment for me, teaching yoga to a group from the USA. Here, I am assisting a student in a partner headstand. The energy spoke louder than words, and it reaffirmed my purpose to guide others on their spiritual journey.
About My Journey: From a Dusty Park to YogaDhara
Most studios are built for profit, but YogaDhara was built as a rebellion against fear. When you step into my Rohini studio, you are not just joining a class. You are entering a space where I use tools like wall ropes, wooden bricks, and chairs to focus on healing, not just exercise. If you are tired of generic routines and want to learn from someone who walked the path from struggle to stability, let's talk.
My path was not easy. It began three years ago in Japanese Park with a single standee and a dream that felt too big for me. I stood there every morning, through cold and empty days, teaching when almost no one stopped to look. My Guru, Nishant Sir, taught me the most important lesson during those lean times. Whether there was a crowd or just me, he showed up. If I wanted to quit a pose, he would shout, 'Wapas nahi aana hai!' (Don't come back!). He taught me that discipline is not about motivation, but about showing up when you do not want to.
That belief in me became the foundation of YogaDhara. I built this studio in Rohini as an extension of my soul. It is a place for the ones who have tasted silence and still want to speak their truth. Here, we do not focus on aesthetic poses that look good on camera. We focus on real alignment. We use props to make difficult asanas accessible and safe for everyone, whether you are dealing with chronic cervical pain, back issues, or just the mental clutter of a fast-paced life. I am not a distant guru. I am someone who has been through the fire of being broke, lost, and directionless. I know how to walk through the dark without flinching, and I am here to help you do the same.
