I get asked a lot how I create such detailed doodles on my mini cakes. My top tips are to use a crusting buttercream or ganache, practice your piping, and be patient. And don't be afraid to scrape it off and start over!

About Mini Cakes & Custom Doodles
These 4-inch bento cakes are designed for two, making them perfect for intimate celebrations. I use my own signature ganache for the finish instead of heavy fondant, which keeps the cake stable and gives you a much cleaner, more chocolatey flavor. Since each doodle is hand-piped to order, I recommend checking my availability at least a day or two in advance so I can make sure your design is exactly right.
I started doing these mini cakes as a fun experiment, but they have quickly become the heart of my kitchen. They are the ideal solution when you want a celebration that feels personal without the commitment of a massive cake.
Why my mini cakes are different
- No Fondant: I have a love-hate relationship with fondant, so I avoid it. I finish everything with a smooth ganache or meringue buttercream. It tastes better, cuts cleaner, and has that classic, rich finish.
- The 'Jugaad' Ganache: To get those sharp edges and deep flavor on such a small canvas, I use my own recipe. It is what allows me to do the detailed doodling without the cake losing its structure.
- Custom Doodles: Whether it is an inside joke for a sibling, a birthday wish for a partner, or a life milestone, I love drawing on cakes. If you have an idea, let me know, and I will try to map it onto that 4-inch space.
Practical Details
- Dietary: Everything that comes out of my studio is 100% eggless. No shortcuts, no compromise.
- Portions: These are 300g-350g cakes. They are perfect for a couple or a very generous single serving.
- Ordering: I am a small-batch baker in Prabhadevi studio based in Prabhadevi, Mumbai. While I can sometimes accommodate last-minute orders if I have slots, sending me a message on WhatsApp a few days early ensures you get the flavor and design you really want.
