The Real Practice: Challenges, Fails & Growth
Yoga isn't just about the perfect shot. It’s about the wobbles, the falls, and showing up anyway. This is the unpolished, honest journey of my practice in Bengaluru.
Try again, fail again, fail better. This video shows my series of failures while preparing for one-arm balances. It's a raw look at the process.
One-hand balancing is still a dream. It looks difficult, and I'm not there yet, but I will come back stronger.
This was supposed to be graceful, but it turned into a yoga fail. Even after years of practice, I truly can't hold this balance for more than a few seconds.
This was a tough challenge. The original video showed 17 levels, but I could hardly make it to level 2. It's humbling and motivating at the same time.
Challenge accepted, but it was hard to get and still not perfectly done. This wall challenge tests flexibility and balance in a unique way.
This handstand press challenge was an interesting one to try. It's great to accept challenges from other practitioners to keep learning and growing.
Challenges make the practice fun and motivating. I accepted this tricky balancing pose challenge from another yogi, and it was a great test of focus.
Challenges help us stay sharp in our training. This video shows me attempting a fun but difficult balancing challenge. Will you accept it?
Do you think this is tough? I was inspired to try this complex headstand variation, and it definitely pushed my limits.
Trying this arm balance challenge from another yogi. It's a great way to stay inspired and connected with the global yoga community.
About The Real Practice: Challenges, Fails & Growth
Most people hide their training clips that don't go to plan, but I believe those messy moments are where the actual learning happens. When we work together, I don't just want you to nail a pose—I want you to learn how to fall safely, adjust your alignment when things get shaky, and keep a calm mind when a transition doesn't go to plan. Whether it is a handstand or a deep backbend, we prioritize the process over the aesthetic.
Beyond the Perfect Pose
There is a common misconception that yoga is about achieving a final, graceful shape. My experience, spanning nine years of training and injury recovery, has taught me the opposite. True progress happens in the transition—in the seconds you spend wobbling before you find your balance, and in the 'fails' where you learn how to exit a pose without hurting yourself.
My Approach to Your Practice
I offer personalized one-on-one sessions in Bengaluru designed to move you past plateaus. We don't just mimic advanced asanas; we break them down into mechanics:
- Safe Foundations: If you are a beginner or returning to the mat after an injury, we focus on joint mobility and stabilization first. No forcing the body into shapes it isn't ready for.
- The Science of Inversions: Whether it is a Pincha Mayurasana or a simple headstand, we use wall drills, props, and strength exercises like tuck planches to build the specific muscles required, not just the willpower.
- Alignment & Mechanics: Through remote video sessions or in-person coaching, I provide cues on micro-adjustments—like managing rib flare or shoulder protraction—that change how a pose feels entirely.
Why Practice with Me?
I treat yoga as 'inner work.' Whether we are working on backbend depth or arm balance transitions, the goal is to build resilience, not just flexibility. You will learn to treat your mistakes on the mat as data, not as a reflection of your worth. We explore what your body can do today, with patience and, inevitably, a bit of humor when things don't go perfectly. Om Namah Shivaya.
Praveen
I’m Praveen. For nine years, I’ve been chasing inversions and balance, but my biggest teacher has been the times I’ve fallen. I’m not here to judge your pose; I’m here to help you understand the mechanics of your own body. If you’re ready to stop performing and start practicing, let’s get on the mat.
Let's find your focus.
