Behind the Scenes of My Yoga Practice
Forget the filtered, perfect poses. This is what real, messy, and honest yoga practice actually looks like.
That look of contemplation when a friend takes your class and you're both trying to figure out how intense it's going to be.
The negotiation phase. "Okay, how about we just do a little bit of movement? Nothing too crazy."
The moment an agreement is reached and we can both smile about it. Laughter is a key part of the practice too.
That genuine smile when you get to share what you love with people you care about. It makes all the hard work worth it.
And that's a wrap! Rolling up the mat with a smile after a good session with a friend. These are the moments I cherish.
About Behind the Scenes
Most people think yoga is all serene faces and perfect angles, but the reality is often a lot of negotiation about how much we’re actually going to sweat today. When a friend drops in for a session, we spend the first few minutes just keeping it real before we even touch the mat. It’s these messy, unfiltered moments that keep my practice grounded and remind me why I do what I do.
Building a consistent yoga practice isn't about hitting the perfect Vinyasa flow or doing a handstand on day one. It's about showing up even when you're tired, grumpy, or just not feeling it. My classes in Mumbai focus on that consistency over perfection. Whether it's Hatha or Vinyasa, I care more about your breath and stability than how you look on camera.
I share these behind-the-scenes moments to break the delulu—the fake idea that yoga teachers are always zen. We aren't. We have bad days, body aches, and moments where we just want to sit on the floor. When you join my session, you aren't signing up for a performative routine. You're signing up for a space where you can be yourself, voice your limitations, and actually move with intent. If you're ready to stop performing and start practicing, let's talk.
