For every studio project, I provide high-quality, dry WAV stems for both the Dayan and Bayan. This gives your mix engineer the flexibility to blend the treble and bass exactly how the track demands, without baked-in effects. If you are experimenting with non-standard time signatures like Rupak (7 beats) or Jhaptaal (10 beats) rather than the standard 4/4, I can help map that out to keep your rhythm authentic and musically rich.
Recording in the studio is different from a live stage. When we record, the focus is on clarity and the texture of the sound. My process starts with understanding the mood of your song—whether it is a fast-paced Punjabi pop track or a slow, emotional ballad.
I believe the tabla should enhance the song, not clutter it. That is why I often suggest we discuss the 'bols' beforehand.
