I provide soulful tabla accompaniment for Shabad and Kirtan, ensuring every rhythm supports the devotion and the vocalist's melody.

A poster from my Kirtan Haazri at Gurudwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. It is always an honor to perform in such a blessed and historic place. Serving through music is the greatest blessing of Guru Sahib.

A focused moment during a Gurbani Kirtan performance at Gurudwara Nanak Piao Sahib. I am playing in Teentaal, a 16-beat cycle, which provides a steady and meditative foundation for the Shabad.

Performing Gurbani Kirtan in Dadra Taal, a 6-beat cycle, at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. The rhythm here is gentle and flowing, perfectly matching the devotional mood of the Shabad being sung.

This is a clip of me providing 'sangat' or accompaniment in Teentaal during a live telecast. The goal is to support the main kirtaniya and create a cohesive, divine sound for the congregation.

In this performance, I tried a complex Chakkardaar Paran within the framework of Teentaal. It's a challenge to weave these technical pieces into a live Kirtan, but it adds a beautiful layer of intricacy.

This performance accompanies a powerful Shabad about spiritual heroes who never leave the field of battle. The rhythm aims to reflect the courage and conviction described in the Gurbani.

Part four of a series from a performance at Gurudwara Sis Ganj Sahib. This clip continues the Kirtan in Dadra Taal, showing how the tabla maintains the rhythmic flow throughout the performance.

Here is another part of the Gurbani Kirtan in Dadra Taal. You can hear how the tabla and harmonium work together to support the vocals, creating a complete and immersive spiritual soundscape.

A short clip showing the tabla's role in a live Kirtan setting. Even simple, steady beats are crucial for holding the rhythm and allowing the Sangat to connect with the Shabad.

This is the second part of our Teentaal Sangat performance. The 16-beat cycle provides a classic and versatile structure for many Shabads in Gurmat Sangeet.

About Gurbani Kirtan & Devotional Performances

When I sit for Sangat, my main goal is to listen to the Kirtaniya and follow the flow of the Shabad, not just play my own beat. I focus on subtle fillers and dynamic control so the tabla adds weight to the devotional atmosphere without ever overpowering the vocals or the harmonium.
