About A Day at the Workshop: Behind the Scenes
We keep groups strictly capped at five photographers, which is the only way to ensure you actually get your hands on the camera. You are not just watching me work from across the room. You are physically handling the wraps, learning the transitions, and shooting with live baby models, so you leave with your own portfolio images by the end of the day.
My workshops are designed for photographers who are tired of theory and ready to get their hands dirty. When you join a session at my Whitefield studio, we jump straight into the practicalities of newborn photography. We start from 9 AM and go until 6 PM, covering the same setups you see in my gallery.
What we cover:
- Safe Posing: You will learn my gentle, safety-first approach to posing newborns. From beanbag workflow to the tricky transitions when a baby gets fussy, you will practice soothing techniques in real-time.
- Twin Posing: Photographing twins is a unique challenge. I dedicate a specific segment to safely handling two babies at once, teaching you how to coordinate poses without compromising comfort.
- Styling & Props: We look at how to layer textures, use floral elements, and select props like baskets or cribs to build a cohesive theme. You will see exactly how I prep the space before the parents even arrive.
- Post-Production: The session includes a deep dive into my Photoshop workflow. I show you how I handle skin retouching and create composite images—the magic behind those 'hanging' shots—using both traditional methods and AI tools.
