Double the miracle, double the chaos. Capturing twins requires patience and specific safety techniques, but there is nothing quite like holding that tiny, synchronized magic in a frame.

Photographing twins, especially when they are awake, presents a unique challenge. I will teach you the techniques to manage and capture beautiful, connected portraits of two babies at once.

These two were full of personality. Capturing moments of interaction between awake twins is a skill we practice, resulting in photos that truly show their budding bond.

This setup shows twin girls swaddled snugly together in a floral wreath. I will teach you wrapping techniques that keep both babies secure and content for a peaceful, beautiful portrait.

When photographing twins, I always make sure to capture individual portraits of each baby. This allows each one to have their own special moment in the spotlight.

This is a twin version of my popular "bloom" setup. Learning to adapt single-baby poses for two is a key part of the workshop, allowing you to create stunning images like this one.

This is a solo portrait of one of the twins, wrapped in a simple grey swaddle. Getting these individual shots is just as important as capturing the pair together.

And here is the other twin from the same session. Notice the slightly different wrap and headband, giving her a unique portrait while maintaining a cohesive look with her sibling's photo.

About The Challenge of Twins: A Special Focus

When I work with twins, my biggest priority is giving you a complete set of memories. I always make sure to capture those precious, snuggle-filled poses of them together, but I never skip the individual solo portraits for each baby. It is all about balance—ensuring they are safely posed and comfortable while getting that variety you will want to look back on years from now.

Photographing twins is a unique rhythm. Unlike single-baby sessions, a twin newborn session in my Whitefield studio requires an extra set of hands and a lot of patience. My goal is always to keep things peaceful so the babies stay settled. We spend time on wrapping and soothing techniques that ensure both little ones are secure, whether they are in a basket, a bucket, or the popular floral 'bloom' setup.

I focus heavily on safety during these sessions. You might see images of babies nestled together, but I always prioritize support and proper posing tools to keep them safe. We take our time with transitions—if one baby needs a feed or a nuzzle from mom, we pause. It is a slow, gentle process because forcing the shots only leads to stress for the parents and the babies.

My approach is to capture the 'perfect chaos' of those first few weeks. We document the bond between them, but also focus on individual portraits. This way, you have a cohesive album that shows them as a pair, yet celebrates each of them as an individual person. Whether you are looking for classic, wrapped newborn portraits or more creative, styled themes, my sessions are designed to move at the pace of your babies.
