Master the art of newborn photography with hands-on training in Thane. Learn safe posing, lighting, and wrapping from an APNPI Ambassador.

Day 1 of my workshop is all about building a strong foundation. I guide my students through theory, camera settings, safe baby wrapping demonstrations, and the principles of professional studio lighting.

It is wonderful to see students like Neha gain so much from the workshop. She highlights the structured flow, from theory and doll practice on Day 1 to the excitement of a live newborn shoot on Day 2.

Safety is the absolute first lesson in my workshop. I walk every student through my hygiene protocols and safe handling practices before we even begin discussing posing or photography.

My workshops are a complete experience, from learning theory in a comfortable setting to hands-on practice with a doll, mastering camera angles, and finally working with a precious newborn to create beautiful final portraits.

Here you can see a demonstration of the womb pose wrap, first practiced on a doll. This ensures my students master the technique safely before applying it in a live session, resulting in a calm baby and beautiful photos.

It is a wrap! This collage captures the energy and success of a recent workshop, showing students learning, practicing with a live newborn, and proudly receiving their completion certificates.

As a newborn photographer, there are common mistakes that can be easily avoided with the right training. I created this guide to highlight the top three areas where photographers often struggle.

The first common mistake is incorrect temperature control in the studio. I teach my students how to create a warm and safe environment that keeps the baby comfortable and sleepy throughout the session.

The second mistake is inadequate posing knowledge, which can be unsafe for the baby. My workshops focus heavily on safe, gentle posing techniques that protect the baby’s delicate body while creating timeless images.

The third common mistake is improper lighting. I provide detailed instruction on how to use studio light to create soft, flattering portraits that beautifully highlight the newborn’s features.

About In-Studio Workshops: Hands-On Learning

My two-day workshop at my Thane studio is strictly hands-on. We start with weighted dolls to master wrapping and safe posing before working with a live newborn model, so you aren't guessing when you get to your own sessions. You will walk away with a portfolio-ready image from our live demo and the technical confidence to manage lighting and baby comfort without any hesitation.
