This is us, Mahanth and Shreya, in our happy place. We love the messy, joyful process of creating together, and this photo captures the fun we have bringing our ceramic ideas to life.
We answer some of your questions. In this video, we talk about why we started a pottery studio and what it's like to work together as partners in business and in life.

We aren't just studio owners; we’re a team balancing Mahanth's years on the wheel with my (Shreya's) focus on keeping our space a safe, inclusive, and pet-friendly environment for everyone to unwind. The Story Behind the Studio
Studio Mudlife started as a way to combine Mahanth's years of technical training with my background in trauma-informed care. We wanted a space that felt less like a factory and more like a breath of fresh air. It hasn't always been smooth sailing—we’ve had our fair share of kiln disasters and steep learning curves—but that’s exactly why we love it.
Why We Work This Way
We believe that pottery is as much about the process as it is about the mug in your hand. Mahanth handles the technical side, obsessing over glaze chemistry like Rutile and Chun, while I manage the studio's heartbeat. We intentionally keep our space pet-friendly and small-batch because we want you to feel the humanness in every piece. Whether you're here for a custom commission or a weekend workshop, you're interacting with a space built on honest, hard work.
Our Approach to Ceramics
Nothing we make is mass-produced. You might find a slight wobble in a rim or a unique drip in a glaze, and that’s intentional. It’s proof that a real person made it, not a machine. We’re open about our methods because we want you to know exactly where your dinnerware or decor comes from—and the care that went into it before it reached your table.
