Rooftop & Terrace Garden Design in Bengaluru
We turn unused rooftops into functional retreats using climate-smart shade structures, native planting, and masonry seating. It is about creating outdoor spaces that feel like a natural extension of your home.
A wider view of the terrace, showing how the different elements work together. The design includes a mix of hardscape, soft artificial grass, and a planter bed, creating distinct zones for seating and circulation while maintaining a cohesive, modern aesthetic.

About Rooftop & Terrace Gardens
The biggest challenge with Bengaluru rooftops is managing heat and glare without blocking the breeze. We avoid heavy concrete structures in favor of custom-fabricated mild steel pergolas paired with heat-insulated puff sheets. This keeps the space comfortable even on bright afternoons. Beneath that, we plan for long-term usability, using granite-topped masonry seating that holds up against the elements so you can focus on the view rather than the maintenance.
Practical Design for Elevated Spaces
We approach every terrace as a living room that just happens to be under the sky. The design restraint you see in our work is intentional. We want the space to feel effortless, which means hiding the complex engineering required to make it functional.
The Technical Foundation
Before any aesthetics, we look at the structure. A terrace garden adds significant weight, so we use lightweight potting mixes made of cocopeat, perlite, and vermicompost to ensure the slab stays safe. Waterproofing is treated with the same priority as the furniture selection; we spot-check all planter areas to ensure drainage happens exactly where it is supposed to, keeping the flooring dry and usable throughout the monsoon.
Managing the Elements
Our choice of materials is driven by longevity. We prefer granite slabs for seating ledges because they handle rain and sun without fading or warping, unlike wood which requires constant oiling and maintenance.
For the greenery, we focus on native species. Hardy plants like Areca Palms, Plumeria, and Heliconia thrive in the local climate with minimal fuss. We often plant these in high-density lines along the parapet walls. This creates a natural green barrier that acts as a wind buffer, providing you with privacy from neighboring buildings while softening the hard edges of the terrace.
