About Claydates for Couples ❤️
You will not just be watching a demo here. During our private two-hour claydate, I personally guide you through centering on the wheel and hand-building your own pieces. Everything is included, from the unlimited practice clay to the firing and glazing process, so you leave with two finished ceramic keepsakes that are completely food-safe and uniquely yours.
My studio in Ghatkopar is where the magic happens. I built this space to be a total digital detox. No screens, just the sound of passing trains, chill music, and the earthy smell of wet clay. What sets a pottery date apart is the pace. It forces you to slow down. When you are trying to center a lump of clay on a spinning wheel, you have to be present. You and your partner will navigate the messy, sometimes wobbly process of making matching mugs or bowls together. Even if you have never touched clay before, do not worry. I am right there to help you fix any wobbles or uneven walls. Here is how the process works: You start with a blank slate. We spend the first part of the session learning the basics, such as how to work the wheel and use sculpting tools. Once you have crafted your masterpiece, that is where the professional work begins. I handle the bisque firing at 900°C and the final glaze firing at 1200°C. Since ceramic requires drying and multiple kiln cycles, you will be able to collect your finished, waterproof pieces in about 3 to 4 weeks. It is the perfect way to turn a Sunday afternoon into a tangible memory you can keep on your shelf.
