Our Design Philosophy & Methodology
A look into how we transform raw sites into meaningful, connected environments through rigorous analysis and an iterative design process.
An architectural elevation drawing of the 'Ayana' residence. This type of drawing is a crucial part of my design process, allowing me to study the building's proportions, materials, and the integration of landscape elements like planters and green walls.
This video shows the masterplan and entrance design for the 'Nirvana' community. It illustrates the process of laying out roads, plots, and green spaces, culminating in a 3D visualization of the proposed gateway and driveway landscape.
A design option for a central sculpture at the 'Nirvana' entrance, symbolizing the project's theme of bliss. Exploring sculptural forms is a key part of my process to create a unique identity and focal point for a landscape.
A second sculpture option for 'Nirvana', featuring a more fluid and organic form. Presenting multiple options allows for a collaborative process with the client to find the perfect artistic expression for their project.
A third sculpture option for 'Nirvana', this time incorporating a water feature. This exploration shows how I consider combining elements like art and water to create a more dynamic and multi-sensory experience.
A fourth, more architectural sculpture option for 'Nirvana', with nested, curved forms. This demonstrates my studio's versatility in developing sculptural elements that range from organic to geometric.
A layout development diagram for the 'Nirvana' entrance area. This annotated plan clearly defines the different zones, including the entry feature, parking, pedestrian access, and marketing office, showing the functional planning behind the design.
An aerial rendering of the 'Nirvana' entrance, developed from the layout plan. This view shows how the grass paver parking, driveways, and green spaces come together to form a cohesive and welcoming arrival experience.
This video presents diagrams of various streetscape design elements for the Embassy Manyata Tech Park. It breaks down concepts like interactive walls, pergolas, seating zones, and water features, illustrating the toolkit of interventions I use in urban design.
The masterplan for the landscape revamp of Embassy Manyata Tech Park. This aerial plan identifies key intervention zones and lists the proposed features, providing a strategic overview of the entire project.
About Our Design Philosophy & Process
We begin every project with an exhaustive site analysis, mapping factors like sun paths, wind direction, and topography before a single line is drawn. For instance, in our recent work at the TVS Electronics factory, this initial slope mapping was the critical step that dictated exactly where to position water bodies for optimal drainage and ecological health, proving that the best design solutions are always rooted in the reality of the land.
Our Approach to Spatial Design
Design is not merely about aesthetics. It is a thoughtful synthesis of form, function, and the natural environment. We believe that architecture and landscape should shake hands, allowing sunlight, breeze, and greenery to become an integral part of the built experience.
The Methodology
Our process is deliberate, phased, and deeply collaborative. Whether we are planning a large-scale resort or a private residential garden, we follow a path that ensures consistency and quality:
- Discovery & Site Analysis: We study how the sun moves, identify existing flora, and analyze soil conditions. We aim not to force ideas onto a plot, but to let the land dictate the potential.
- Conceptualization: We develop master layouts, moving from hand-drawn sketches to 3D visualizations. This is where we define the 'story' of the space, identifying zones for activity versus reflection.
- Technical Detailing: This is where precision takes over. We create civil and hardscape drawings, lighting layouts, and service plans for irrigation and drainage. Every material, from the choice of brick to the placement of pavers, is selected to ensure longevity and low maintenance.
- Execution & Supervision: Design integrity is maintained through our presence on site. We supervise the planting process and the construction of custom features like pergolas or water bodies to ensure the final reality matches the vision.
Why Process Matters
Take our work at the Embassy Manyata Tech Park. By analyzing the streetscape, we identified 'pause points' and 'green connectors' that turned a sterile business environment into a pedestrian-friendly experience. We didn't just add decoration; we restructured the interaction between people and the street. We bring this same level of strategic depth to every project, ensuring that your space serves you for years to come.
