Behind the Scenes: From Design Concept to Home Completion
A beautiful home is the end goal, but the journey to get there is where the real story lives. Here is a look at the messy, exciting, on-site problem-solving that brings our designs to life.
This is the reality of a project site. It can look like a comedy of errors, but it's where the magic happens. This video shows the progress on the Jhansi project, from bare floors to the beginnings of a beautiful home.
A raw, behind-the-scenes look at the Jhansi heritage project during construction. You can see the scale of the double-height space and the initial woodwork before the final finishes were applied.
Finding the perfect color is a process. This image shows the numerous paint samples we tested on the wall for the Jhansi project to get the exact shade of olive green. It's this attention to detail that makes a difference.
Here you can see the custom bar and shelving unit for the Jhansi project being built on-site. This shows the craftsmanship and precision required to bring my 3D designs into reality.
More behind-the-scenes madness. This shows the color sampling process for the artwork backdrops in the bar cabinet, ensuring every element was perfectly coordinated before final installation.
Part of my job is staying updated on the latest materials. Here I am at an experience center, exploring new large-format tiles that are game-changers for facade design due to their scale and cost-effectiveness.
A peek behind the curtain on shoot day. After months of design and execution, this is when we capture the final result. It's a team effort to style and photograph every corner perfectly.
More behind-the-scenes footage from the upcoming project in Jhansi. This video shows the intricate woodwork and paneling in progress, highlighting the regal and timeless appeal we are aiming for.
Textile sourcing is a crucial step where I select fabrics for furniture, curtains, and cushions. I pay close attention to details, ensuring the textures and colors align with the overall vision for the home.
This video shows the on-site work for a home inspired by Indian heritage design. We are creating a space that honors tradition while embracing contemporary living, and I'm excited to hand it over soon.
About Behind the Design: From Concept to Completion
Finding the perfect paint shade is rarely a single choice. On-site, we often test a dozen different swatches on the walls, observing how they change with natural light throughout the day. This trial process is part of the pre-handover madness, but these small, meticulous decisions are exactly what make a house feel like your personal sanctuary.
Construction is rarely the clean, linear process seen in magazines. I used to stress when plans shifted, but I have learned that a site where nothing goes wrong is a myth. Whether it is adjusting the lighting in a bar cabinet on the fly or realizing a fan needs to be re-positioned to balance the ceiling aesthetics, we handle the twists and turns so you do not have to.
The Reality of Our Process
When you see a finished 18,000 sq. ft. residence or a modern apartment, it is the result of thousands of micro-decisions. Our workflow focuses on bridging that gap between the 3D render and the physical site:
- Material Selection: We don't just pick from a catalog. We visit showrooms and experience centers to touch materials, ensuring they are not just beautiful but cost-effective and durable for your specific lifestyle.
- Site Supervision: I am physically present at the site, coordinating between carpenters, electricians, and painters. This hands-on supervision allows us to catch technical errors before they become permanent problems.
- Heritage & Restoration: Old houses come with structural surprises. We work with lime plaster and traditional techniques to ensure we preserve the soul of the home while making it comfortable for today.
Why We Work This Way
I believe in transparency. If a specific marble pattern is not going to work with your floor layout, I will tell you. If a custom furniture piece needs an extra week for the perfect PU finish, we make that call. We act as your project partner, taking the burden of vendor coordination and site management off your shoulders. We aren't just here to design the home; we are here to ensure it gets built correctly, handling every curveball the site throws our way.
