Modern Home Facade Design Concepts
Your home's exterior is the first chapter of its story. I focus on honest materials like exposed brick and concrete to create designs that are striking by day and warm once the lights go on.
This is a 3D visualization of a residential facade I designed. It reflects the inhabitants' personality: warm and wonderful, using a combination of classic brick, modern concrete, and lush greenery on the balconies and rooftop.
This night-view animation shows how crucial lighting is for a facade. I use a combination of spotlights and concealed LEDs to highlight the architectural features and create a dramatic, welcoming glow after dark.
A closer look at the material interplay on the facade. The texture of the raw concrete contrasts beautifully with the clean lines of the brickwork and the glass railings, creating a balanced and modern aesthetic.
About this collection
Getting the facade right is rarely just about the visual impact; it is about how the house handles the local climate while still standing out. In my designs, I often balance the density of raw concrete with the lightness of glass railings and strategic terrace planting to ensure the house feels airy from the street view, rather than feeling like a solid, imposing block.
The exterior of a residence needs to be durable and practical, not just beautiful. I gravitate towards raw materials—exposed brick, concrete, and natural stone—because they age with grace and require minimal maintenance compared to painted surfaces.
Designing for the Light
Lighting is the second half of a facade's story. During the day, natural light highlights the textures in the brickwork and concrete. At night, I use a combination of concealed warm LEDs and focused exterior spots to highlight architectural features. This creates a welcoming glow without flooding the house with harsh, flat light.
Bringing in the Green
Integrating greenery is a non-negotiable part of my process. Whether it is a vertical garden on a concrete wall or simple planter beds on balconies, adding life to a structure softens the hard edges of modern construction. It also provides a natural cooling effect, which is essential for our climate.
The Process
When we start planning your facade, I look at the orientation of the house first. Where does the sun hit the hardest? How do we need to shade the windows? We will work through these details in 3D, so you can see how the materials catch the light before we ever lay a brick on-site. If you have a specific vision for your home’s entrance, let’s talk about how to make it a reality.
