Stone and brick are not just building materials. They are a conversation with history, climate, and the land. Explore how we craft breathing, timeless walls that hold space and soul.

Our Tiruppur house, a symphony in stone. This upward-looking shot captures the corner detail of the granite facade, a collection of gardens that will be framed as a home.

The Gomati country home, built entirely in Kotah stone. The structure is accessed via a rising green mound, which is actually the rubble collected from demolishing old structures on the site.

Our Black Bastian house, a construct of two solid granite bastions connected by a suspended bridge. The noble materials, including dark granite and Indian marble, make for timeless elegance.

The 'Wahatan' villa in Dubai, where green roofs and planted terraces spill over the brick walls, creating a lush oasis.

Our first project in Dubai, 'Ishtika' (brick in Sanskrit). The design uses sand-toned brick and a central courtyard to create a home that is both grand and intimate.

About Mastery in Masonry: A Symphony of Stone & Brick

We do not just stack stone or brick. We engineer porosity. By crafting granite jaalis and terracotta screens, we create walls that breathe, naturally filtering harsh sun while inviting cool light inside. This is a precise, hand-finished approach to climate control that feels ancient yet entirely modern, requiring no mechanical intervention to keep a space comfortable.

When we work with stone or brick, we are listening to the earth. For our Ishtika project, we used sand-toned brick not for a facade, but to create a breathing, porous enclosure that wraps around courtyards, much like a traditional haveli.

Working with masonry demands patience. It requires direct engagement with local masons, hand-finishing, and an understanding of how raw granite or Dhrangadhra stone behaves in specific climates. In our Tiruppur house, we treated granite not as a solid block but as a lattice, hand-finishing every baton to build a textured, breathing screen that offers privacy without sealing the building off.

We avoid the box-like architecture of steel and glass. Instead, we use stone and brick to create thermal mass that regulates heat naturally. These are noble, honest materials. They do not require the maintenance of plaster or paint. They age gracefully, developing a patina that tells the story of the building over time.

Whether it is the dark granite bastions of our Black Bastian house or the Kotah stone floors of our country retreats, our masonry is never merely decorative. It is structural. It is climatic. It is built to stand the test of time, grounding your home in its specific geology and culture. This is architecture that does not hide behind screens but stands firm, honest, and quiet.

We are a Mumbai-based studio that prefers listening to the land over chasing design trends. Our team works by hand, sketching ideas and building physical models to ensure every brick and stone serves a purpose. We believe buildings should feel like a quiet conversation between the landscape and those who live there.
