My Ashtanga Yoga Lineage and Journey
Yoga is more than poses. It is the lineage I carry. Here is a look at my roots at the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore and the teacher who shaped my practice.
A tribute to my teacher, Sharathji. He has been a guiding light on my journey, and his teachings have transformed my life in more ways than I can count.
Another cherished photo with my Guruji. His presence shaped my life when I was lost, and I am eternally grateful to have been his student.
Happy Gurupurnima to my teacher, Sharath Jois. I feel blessed and beyond grateful for the gift of this practice that he has shared with so many of us.
The mandatory photo at the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore, the home of Ashtanga yoga. This place feels like a pilgrimage for practitioners.
A smiling shot at the SYC. Being here always deepens my connection to the practice and its roots.
About My Journey & Lineage
When you step into my studio in Greater Kailash, you are practicing a method I learned directly at the source. My connection to the Sharath Yoga Centre and my years under the guidance of my teacher, Sharath Jois, define how I teach. I bring the simplicity and discipline I learned there to our sessions here in Delhi, ensuring you get an authentic, lineage-based Ashtanga experience that is grounded in tradition.
The photos here are from the Sharath Yoga Centre in Mysore, which remains the home of Ashtanga yoga. My journey there was not just about learning poses. It was about understanding the discipline, the Ujjayi breathwork, and the quiet consistency that defines this practice. In the Mysore style of yoga, you move at your own pace while I provide the support and hands-on adjustments you need to progress safely.
By keeping my teaching aligned with this lineage, I avoid the 'fitness-first' trap that often leads to burnout. Instead, we focus on the Ashtanga method as a moving meditation. Whether you are a total beginner or an experienced practitioner, you can expect a space where ego stays at the door. We work on alignment, we practice patience, and we learn to manage the discomfort that comes with growth.
In my Delhi classes, I bring this exact method to you. We do not rush. We do not skip steps. You will learn the Tristana method—linking breath, gaze, and energy locks—which helps quiet the mind and calms your nervous system. If you have been looking for a yoga practice that goes deeper than just stretching, this is it.
