A 50x40 corner plot transformation that balances modern angular design with traditional Vastu principles.

The initial 3D render of the east-facing elevation, showing the design concept of interlocking solid and void masses. This visualization was key to establishing the home's contemporary style and angular form with the client.

The same house during the early construction phase. You can see the building's core structure taking shape, revealing the large openings and cantilevered sections that were planned in the design.

The project midway through construction, with the brickwork and basic form complete. This stage is where the architectural vision starts to become a physical reality, showing the transition from blueprint to building.

The finished exterior, showcasing the final materials like wood cladding and glass railings. This is the culmination of the design and build process, a Vastu-based home with a distinctly modern aesthetic.

A nighttime render of the south-facing facade. This view was created to study the effect of exterior lighting on the building's angular walls and different textures, ensuring it looks striking after dark.

An interior detail from the home, where a skylight brings natural light down onto a textured wall. This small, zen-like corner with tall grasses shows my focus on creating calm, nature-connected spaces within the house.

About this collection

We managed to achieve a sense of openness on this 50x40 corner plot by utilizing large eastern openings and a specific layout that draws natural light deep into the core. Instead of standard boxy rooms, the structure uses angular inclined walls and solid masses to create dynamic shadows throughout the day.

Managing a 50x40 corner site with both East and South roads presented a distinct architectural challenge. The goal was to provide privacy while keeping the house breathable and bright. We focused on 'solid and void' masses to give the facade an identity that does not just blend into the street, but stands out with character.

The home is strictly Vastu-compliant, which dictated the placement of the entrance, kitchen, and master bedroom, but we avoided the typical constraints of traditional layouts. By using open-well atriums and skylights, we ensure that light travels to the center of the home, neutralizing the density. The exterior features unique angular inclined walls, which are not just aesthetic—they manipulate sunlight to keep the interiors naturally cooler.

Project Highlights

  • Structural Concept: Cantilevered sections and strategically placed openings that define the building envelope.
  • Materials: Texture paint, durable exterior cladding, and large-format vitrified tiles for the interior finish.
  • Layout: A duplex arrangement with a garden-facing living and dining area on the ground floor to maximize connection with the outdoors.
  • Utility: Sound-proof UPVC fenestration to block out road noise while maintaining a view.

Whether it is the night-time facade lighting or the zen-like skylight corner, every inch is intentional. We designed this to feel like a home, not just a structure.

I am Ashok. I do not build homes based on copy-paste plans; I build them based on how you actually live. If you are looking for a space that balances modern design with the logic of Vastu, let's talk about what we can do for your specific plot.
