Conversations on Art, Philosophy, and Heritage
I explore the intersection of ancient wisdom and modern living through candid discussions. Join me in deconstructing the philosophy behind our arts, the concept of Rasa, and why our epics remain relevant today.
A clip from my appearance on the OAPN Podcast. In this episode, I discuss my journey with art, the freedom I had to explore, and the phenomenal experiences I have had on stage as a Harikatha artist and dancer.
What is the final destination of art? In this podcast clip, I discuss the concept of 'Rasa', the surreal bliss that is beyond divinity or dharma. It is that moment when art moves you, and both the artist and the audience are successful.
In this podcast, I discuss my article, 'Rama, a Tributary to a River called Krishna'. For me, Krishna's life is a university, and his unwavering spirit in the face of constant adversity is a greater teaching than the Gita itself.
I share a surreal performance experience from a Harikatha on Ramanujacharya in Melkote. As I was narrating the story of an idol coming to life, a real palanquin with the idol passed through the audience. It was a moment of pure, divine coincidence.
About Conversations & Collaborations
These discussions are not just about my performances, they are about why the epics still matter to us. Whether we are deconstructing the life of Krishna or debating the nature of Rasa, I invite you to see our heritage not as a static history, but as a living, breathing guide for modern life and its daily anxieties.
Art is often misunderstood as merely entertainment, but for me, it is a tool for self-reflection. In my conversations and podcast appearances, I strip away the academic varnish to talk about the practical application of Sanatana Dharma.
My approach is rooted in the philosophy that we should not just read our texts, but live them. When I discuss topics like 'Rama versus Krishna' or the concept of 'Rasa'—that surreal bliss beyond divinity—I am sharing the conclusions I have reached after years of studying Sanskrit and performing Harikatha.
These dialogues cover several key areas:
- The Ethics of Today: How do we apply the struggles of characters like Krishna to our own professional and personal challenges? We discuss finding hope when the odds are stacked against us.
- The Anatomy of Performance: What makes a Harikatha or a Kathak recital work? I deconstruct the craft behind balancing traditional technique with modern theatrical needs.
- Living History: I share the moments when tradition collided with reality, like my experience in Melkote, to illustrate that these stories are not myths, but accounts of human experience.
If you are looking for a speaker who can translate complex ancient concepts into digestible, actionable lessons for your audience, let us talk. My goal is always to create a space where art and intellect meet.
