Indian Classical Arts, Harikatha, and Mythological Productions
A glimpse into the rhythm of Kathak, the depth of Harikatha, and the grandeur of our mythological productions. Explore the artistic journey of Sharat Prabhath.
A glimpse into the raw energy of the Kurukshetra war from our production, '18 Days'. This moment captures the fierce spirit of Abhimanyu, a character whose story of valor continues to inspire. We bring these epic tales to life with dynamic choreography and powerful emotion.
In my Hurry Katha series, I explore profound concepts like Dharma. This story of King Nriga teaches us that righteous actions, even if their results are delayed, are never in vain. It is a reminder to always tread the path of Dharma for a certain, positive result.
For me, Kathak is a form of meditation, a way to find stillness in motion and peace amidst the chaos of the world. This performance is an expression of that inner calm, or 'Sukoon', that the practice of classical arts brings to my soul.
Harikatha is not just a monologue; it is a lively conversation filled with stories, music, and humor. In this excerpt, I narrate a humorous interaction between a confident Bheema and a bewildered Lord Indra, showcasing the playful and accessible nature of our ancient epics.
The scale of our production '18 Days' is a testament to the collective passion of our entire cast and crew. Here, the army of the Pandavas stands united, a powerful visual of the epic narrative we bring to the stage through a blend of dance, music, and theatre.
It was a moment of immense pride for us at Prabhath Arts International to represent India at the 27th Bangkok International Music and Dance Festival. This invitation was a humbling honor and a recognition of our dedication to sharing Indian classical arts on a global stage.
The joy of dance is something I am passionate about sharing. We are starting new Kathak batches for anyone who wishes to begin their journey with this beautiful art form. It is never too late to connect with rhythm and find joy in movement.
It was a pleasure to spend an evening with one of India's finest actors, Aamir Khan, discussing our shared love for epics, films, and classical arts. His appreciation for our production '18 Days' was incredibly encouraging and affirmed our mission to tell these timeless stories.
In the quiet moments of a Harikatha performance, I find my deepest connection to the divine. This art form is a legacy passed down through generations, and it is my life's purpose to share these stories of faith and devotion that have nurtured my own soul.
About Featured
My work bridges the gap between ancient tradition and modern performance. Whether I am conducting an intimate Harikatha session or managing a troupe of 30 for a grand production like '18 Days', my focus is on clarity and connection. If you are looking to host a performance, please note that for large dance-dramas, I require a minimum stage size of 40ft x 30ft to accommodate the ensemble and set pieces, while my solo recitals are designed to be adaptable to almost any venue in Bengaluru.
Bringing Indian Classics to Life
At Prabhath Arts International, we do not just perform; we reconstruct the past. My journey as a Haridasa and a Kathak exponent is defined by the quest for 'Rasa'—that deep sense of satisfaction that arises when the audience connects with the story.
My Performance Range
- Solo Harikatha: These are intimate sessions where I blend Carnatic music, Sanskrit shlokas, and storytelling. These are ideal for cultural gatherings, private events, or educational institutions looking for an engaging, lecture-style format.
- Kathak Recitals: Grounded in the Jaipur Gharana, my dance is a form of meditation. I offer technical solos that explore the rhythm, grace, and 'Sukoon' (peace) of the classical form.
- Grand Productions: Shows like '18 Days' are our flagship experiences. These involve massive sets, war chariots, and a troupe of 20 to 30 performers. We utilize multimedia, projection, and live orchestra to create a full theatrical spectacle.
Teaching and Pedagogy
Beyond performance, I am deeply committed to teaching. I conduct Kathak and Carnatic vocal classes at my studio in Jayanagar, Bengaluru, as well as online. I believe that learning the arts is a path to discipline and self-discovery. My classes are structured to help students understand the 'why' behind the rhythm, ensuring they learn the technique while connecting with the heritage of the dance.
Why Work With Us
We handle the production quality with a high standard. From authentic period costumes to professional makeup and lighting design, we take care of the visual narrative so you can focus on the experience. Whether it is a small workshop or a large-scale mythological ballet, I bring the same dedication to every project.
Think about it—art is not just entertainment, it is a way to align ourselves with timeless wisdom. If you would like to discuss a collaboration or book a session, reach out, and let us bring the stories to life.
