About
Why Seido Karate?
For us, karate is a lot more than just punching and kicking. It’s a way to train your whole self - body, mind, and spirit. I really believe in the saying, "Cry in the dojo, laugh on the battlefield." That’s how we train here.
Who Can Join?
Everyone’s welcome. It doesn’t matter if you’re young or old, beginner or experienced. If you want to learn, you’ll fit in.
- Kids build discipline, focus, and confidence with us
- Adults get a mix of fitness, self-defense, and traditional martial arts
How We Train
Our approach is all about holistic karate training. We work on:
- Body: Strength, stamina, flexibility. You’ll practice kata (Seido kata instruction), sparring (kumite), and practical self-defense.
- Mind: It’s not just physical - we train mental discipline too. Every class has elements of focus, respect, even a bit of meditation.
- Spirit: We support you to build real confidence. Our karate belt progression system keeps you moving forward, step by step.
Beyond Just Classes
- Special workshops like Tameshiwari (board breaking), knife defense, and Zen meditation
- Annual training camp (Gasshuku) in the mountains, including hikes and outdoor sessions
- Advanced students can learn traditional weapons like Sai and Nunchaku
Our Dojo Vibe
I’m a 5th Dan Black Belt, certified at Seido HQ in New York, and I run classes with help from my senior black belts. We’re a proper family here - everyone supports each other. When you train with us, you become part of that.
