About The Creative Process: Rehearsals & BTS
People usually see the polished stage act, but I believe the real magic happens in these four walls. When you work with me, we do not just jump into performance mode. We spend time building the movement from scratch, experimenting with Kathak footwork and modern fusion, ensuring the steps feel natural to you before we ever step onto a stage.
Building the Movement
For me, the studio is a laboratory. Whether I am preparing for a major production like 'Sitayana' or designing a movement sequence for a brand film, the rehearsal process is where the story actually gets written. I focus on raw, honest movement that goes beyond just looking good.
How We Work Together
When we collaborate on a project, our rehearsals are designed to be a safe space. It does not matter if you are a seasoned performer or just starting out. My process involves:
- Exploration: We start by finding your natural rhythm and comfort zone.
- Kathak & Fusion Roots: We use traditional techniques as a base, then layer in contemporary or Bollywood styles to fit the music and the mood.
- Real-Time Feedback: I believe in constant communication. We try, we fail, we adjust, and we repeat until it feels like you.

I have learned that the best performances come from a place of connection, not just muscle memory. By focusing on the 'pal pal jeena' approach, I help you find joy in the rehearsal. We keep it grounded, we keep it sweaty, and we make sure that by the time you reach the stage or the camera, you are not just performing steps—you are telling your own story.
