Practical Women's Self-Defense Workshops in Mumbai
We do not just teach martial arts, we teach confidence. Whether you are a student, a working professional, or a mother, our workshops prepare you to handle real-life threats with simple, effective techniques.
We hold regular self-defense workshops focused on women's safety. This video shows highlights from a recent session where participants, many with no prior experience, learn basic strikes and blocks on pads. Our aim is to equip every mom, girl, and sister with the confidence and skills to feel safe.
A look inside our Daughter's Day self-defense workshop at the Byculla dojo. Mothers and sisters joined in to learn fundamental self-protection techniques together, practicing partner drills in a fun and collaborative environment. It's about building a community of strong, prepared women.
Our instructors leading a large group of women through basic self-defense drills. Even in a large workshop, we provide clear, step-by-step guidance on stances, blocks, and kicks, ensuring everyone can follow along and learn effective techniques.
We believe empowerment starts early. This collection shows our young female karatekas, from white to blue belts, demonstrating focus and strength during training and examinations. We are proud to nurture this next generation of strong, confident women.
About Empowering Women Through Self-Defense
You do not need a martial arts background or a uniform to start. We train in regular street clothes because that is what you will be wearing when you need these skills most. Our focus is on quick, instinctive reactions—using your body's natural leverage to escape holds or create distance—rather than teaching complex choreography that fails when your adrenaline spikes.
Our Approach to Safety
In our workshops, we focus on the reality of being a woman in a busy city like Mumbai. We don't believe in fighting for the sake of it. We believe in awareness, prevention, and having the right tools to act when you have no other choice.
What We Cover
- Situational Awareness: Learning to spot preventative indicators before a situation turns physical.
- Threat Response: Practical drills for common scenarios like wrist grabs, hair pulls, or feeling cornered in public transport.
- Mental Conditioning: We work specifically on overcoming the 'freeze' response. When you are scared, your brain often shuts down. We train your body to move before your mind thinks.
Why Goju-Ryu?
'Go' means hard, 'Ju' means soft. This Okinawan style is perfect for self-defense because it doesn't rely on being physically stronger than your attacker. We teach you how to use your opponent's momentum against them, using vital point striking—like hitting soft targets—to neutralize a threat immediately.
Join the Family
We conduct these sessions in a safe, non-judgmental environment. Whether you join us at our Marine Lines dojo, the Byculla center, or request a corporate seminar at your office, the goal is the same: to leave feeling more capable than when you walked in. If you are part of a group, we can also bring our full setup of striking shields and safety gear to your location.
