S.H.E. Self-Defense Training for Women
Practical, hands-on safety training designed to make you your own bodyguard, regardless of your current fitness or experience.
This is from a S.H.E. self-defense workshop I conducted for a corporate office on International Women's Day. Empowering women with safety skills is my passion.
Demonstrating a technique during the workshop. I teach simple, practical moves that can be used to escape a dangerous situation.
A group of women learning together in an open, supportive environment. The goal is to build confidence and awareness.
The workshop in progress. It's not just about physical moves, but also about learning to set boundaries and recognize potential threats early.
About S.H.E. - Self-Defense for Women
Forget the fancy moves you see in movies. S.H.E. is not about looking good, it is about being effective when you actually need it. I focus on simple, gross-motor-skill techniques that work when your adrenaline is spiking and your mind is blank. Whether you are at your office in BKC or walking to your car at night, you need tools that stick, not theory that requires years to master.
S.H.E. stands for Simple, Handy, and Effective. When I developed this program, I wanted to strip away the sport rules found in standard dojos and get down to the reality of self-protection. The street has no referee, and it certainly does not care about your weight class or how long you have been training.
Why This Approach Works
Most martial arts focus on competition. S.H.E. focuses on survival. We incorporate elements from Krav Maga for tactical defense, Japanese Jujutsu for close-contact scenarios, and Kali for dealing with threats involving weapons. My goal is to teach you how to spot trouble before it starts, set clear boundaries, and physically react only when you have no other choice.
What You Can Expect
We train in a supportive, judgment-free space at my Bandra facilities. It does not matter if you have never thrown a punch or if you are already an athlete. I customize the training to your specific physical capabilities. We do not just talk about moves, we practice them under pressure. We use pad work, stress drills, and role-play simulations so your body develops the muscle memory to act without thinking.
This training is about more than just physical maneuvers. It is about awareness. When you know you have the ability to handle a threat, your body language changes. You walk with confidence, which is often the best deterrent against potential trouble. If you have the will to learn to protect yourself, I will find a way to make it happen for you.
Hemaal Shah
I am Sensei H, and I have spent 28 years learning that the best way to handle danger is to avoid it before it starts. I built the S.H.E. program because I believe every woman should feel like her own bodyguard, regardless of her fitness level. We train with a serious purpose, but always in a space where you can ask questions and find your own strength.
