Yoga boring nahi hai. Hum aerial hammocks, wall ropes, aur chairs use karte hain taaki aap asanas ko asani se aur safe tareeke se perform kar sakein. Sabke liye — kids se leke seniors tak.

We realize our true potential in the toughest situations. Here, I am assisting a student using a chair to achieve a deep backbend, showing how props can help you safely push your limits and discover your strength.

This is what I call "fauladi" (steel-strong) yoga. Using ropes isn't just about hanging; it's about building incredible arm and core strength, improving posture, and developing intense focus and discipline.

Bending reveals the strength we didn't know we had. With my guidance, students use chairs and the wall to explore deep backbends, improving spinal flexibility and building confidence in their practice.

"Bend so you don’t break." Using a chair as a prop, I guide a student into a supported backbend. This method ensures a healthy spine and is a fantastic way to open the chest and shoulders safely.

The benefits of inversions are incredible. In my class, we use straps and hammocks to make poses like this accessible. It boosts circulation, strengthens the core, reduces stress, and energizes the body and mind.

Strength comes from overcoming what you once thought you couldn't. These students are using straps to support their inversions, building upper body and core strength while finding a new perspective.

"Turn your world upside down to find your true balance." This student is using a wall and a strap for a supported backbend inversion, a pose that improves spine flexibility, core strength, and circulation.

This is the best place to relax. Using an aerial hammock for deep backbends and inversions like the scorpion pose allows for a unique stretch that strengthens and relaxes the body simultaneously.

Stretch beyond your limits. Here, I use my body weight and wall ropes to help a student achieve a full split stretch, demonstrating how assisted techniques can help you grow beyond your boundaries.

A fresh perspective can change everything. This student is practicing a supported headstand using straps, which is a great way to build confidence and experience the benefits of inversions safely.

About Fun with Props: Aerial, Ropes & Chairs

Props like ropes and chairs aren't just for support; they are tools to help you hit the right alignment without straining your muscles. When you use a wall rope for a backbend or a chair to support your weight, you instantly release the tension in your spine. It lets you get the benefit of an advanced pose, even if you are just starting out or dealing with lower back stiffness.

Many people think you need extreme flexibility to start yoga, but that is exactly what props are for. At my Vile Parle studio, we use specialized tools to make the practice accessible for everyone.

Why I Use Props in Class

  • Wall Ropes: These are the gold standard for spinal traction. They allow you to hold inversions longer, which helps in decompression of the spine and improves circulation without putting unnecessary pressure on your neck or joints.
  • Aerial Hammocks: These aren't just fun to look at; they are essential for dynamic movement. Spinning and flowing in the hammock creates space in your joints and offers a natural energy boost by increasing blood flow.
  • Chairs: This is the ultimate tool for posture correction. If you work a desk job, you likely have rounded shoulders or a tight lower back. We use chairs to safely open the chest and stretch the spine, making moves like the Scorpion pose achievable and safe.

Whether you are a kid struggling with focus or a senior looking to improve mobility, these tools remove the fear of falling or getting hurt. We focus on 'fauladi' strength—building core stability and flexibility in a way that protects your body. If you want to fix your posture or simply want to try something more engaging than a standard mat practice, come by for a session.

I am Ritesh. When I moved from finance to yoga, I realized the mat is not the only place to find balance. I use these ropes and hammocks because I want my students to feel what it is like to move without pain, whether you are 8 or 60 years old.
