Whether you are a beginner needing extra stability or an experienced student refining your alignment, we use ropes, chairs, and wheels to make every posture safer and more effective.

Here you can see how we use a rope wall to assist with forward bends. This setup allows a beginner to get a feel for the posture with support, while an advanced practitioner can achieve a full horizontal extension, building immense core and back strength.

Our students using the rope wall for deep side-body and shoulder stretches. Using ropes allows for a greater range of motion and helps release tension in the upper body, which is often tight from daily stress and sitting.

A student performs a deep backbend using the rope wall for support. This prop-assisted Urdhva Dhanurasana variation helps open the chest and shoulders while protecting the lower back, making the pose more accessible.

This posture demonstrates how ropes can be used to build core strength. By leaning against the ropes, the student can hold a perfect plank, engaging the abdominal muscles without straining the wrists or shoulders.

This is a look at our Medical Therapy Yoga class, where we adapt poses for specific health needs. Here, students of all ages use the wall and ropes for gentle stretches to alleviate back pain and improve posture.

Our Yoga Teacher Training Course students learning various asanas using a chair. We demonstrate variations of Kapotasana (Pigeon Pose) and Trikonasana (Triangle Pose) to show how a simple chair can modify poses for different body types.

This video showcases several chair yoga variations, including Setubandhasana (Bridge Pose) and Parsvakonasana (Side Angle Pose). Chair yoga is perfect for those with mobility issues or anyone looking for extra support in their practice.

I am demonstrating how to use a yoga wheel as a prop to safely practice Shirshasana (Headstand). The wheel provides stability and support, allowing practitioners to build confidence and strength before attempting the unsupported version.

Proper guidance is key in advanced poses. Here, I am assisting a student in Grivasana (Neck Pose) with a yoga belt to ensure correct alignment and support as she builds strength in her neck and back.

About Prop-Based Yoga: Rope, Chair & Wheel

Don't think props are just for beginners or people with mobility issues. We use rope walls to create traction for spinal decompression, chairs to stabilize deep stretches like Trikonasana, and wheels to safely build the balance needed for advanced inversions like Shirshasana. It is about working smarter, not just pushing your body through pain.
